Thank you to those who have shared their experience with the Ratings drop during the challenge (or around the challenge time). We have been actively investigating the matter and have identified the issue. In the coming days we will be working on pushing out a fix and will update the community once the issue has been resolved and any possible remedy to those impacted by the issue.
Thanks bro. Would be nice to have a review of what caused the issue. Seems to have happened previously too.

Being this is something that involves how Wayfarer works internally, they most likely won’t share any additional information as to what may have caused these events. Tintino did note that it’s being investigated, a fix will be pushed out soon, and we will be notified once the issue is resolved.
You may want to check out the thread on the issue from this spring, and see what info Niantic did provide us with then, as it most likely will be the same this time around:
I agree that I am not convinced it is a bug, but rather the fact that all the reviews we get now with ML picking off the easy ones can be a coin toss as to whether it should be accepted or not.
I also tried to be more active, participate in the challenge and then help the resulting edit queue - now I’m sitting at poor and deeply discouraged with this state of things. The worst part is - I’m already skipping nominations I would normally deny (I.e. football graffiti, decorative manholes), but it doesn’t seem to be working and I’m starting to wonder whether skipping is also penalised (I know it shouldn’t, but at this point I’m ready to put my tinfoil hat on).
Skipping isnt penalised as far as we know. I’ve also been skipping a lot of stuff - actually I’m more likely to skip something that I would prefer to approve but I know wont be popular with other reviewers rather than skipping rejects. So far my rating is at Great again after having been flipping between good and great constantly every few reviews for several weeks
Niantic did mention there has recently been an issue with rating, so its possible you were also affected. I hope your rating repairs soon.
I have been doing a few reviews a day for quite a while now and skipping anything I wasnt sure about, and skipping most edits as well. It seems to have finally stabilised my rating
