Received a warn I can't understand

Having only portals starting with S would make it almost impossible to play Ingress at times then, wouldn’t it? That’s negatively affecting game play, and that is considered abuse.

can you share the exact location at which you nominated it? the screenshot with the map obscures it a bit

also are you sure that this is what caused the ban? because the email screenshot you show here is one of the “educational” emails which is usually separate from the ladder actions

Having never played Ingress I am in the dark, here, but If someone needed a local chain they might well key in ‘Salerno’ and then choose a store, a church, a park. If they were trying to span long distances I suppose they would be trying to select precise points that held value to use as spans.

It’s not my game, and I could be entirely wrong, but I don’t know of any guidance from Niantic one way or the other, other than to try to use an official title if you know it, and try to make the title interesting, useful and informative if there isn’t one.

I would consider it to be quite nit-picky if anyone insisted I use a one-word title with no embellishment. Salerno - West End - Comics seems fine to me.

I don’t play Ingress either, but we are submitting Wayspots for all Niantic games to use, not just one. I can see Ingress players reporting these Wayspots as abusive because they’re unable to make many chains in this area. It has no effect on PoGo, but that’s not the only game we have to be concerned with when submitting in Wayfarer.

Unable? How so? They are not nearby? Or they would have to guess the naming convention, or ???

So when I submit I’m not supposed to take a specific game into consideration but if it upsets some Ingress players I could possibly get a warning/ban?

I translated every part of my submission so you can read what I wrote under “note for the reviewers” part of the post.

Cut and paste:

Comics shop opened more than 30 years ago, it’s the only one here to have an antiques section for antiques lovers.

The original email shown here is the poorly worded educational email. When I got one like this, I replied to it and was told this was not actually a warning. Idk what email you got on Monday that got you banned. Was that one Wayfarer or game related?

(I don’t want to weigh in on wording in another language that I can’t follow.)

The titles/descriptions aren’t translated in Lightship; they are in the original language submitted, as seen from the screenshots I’ve provided.

How this can influence reviewers?
Because the email says I wrote something that influenced them.

Also in the city we have another wayspot called just Fumetteria (yes I know fantasy is not something the owners of those comics shops took into account but I’m not one of them so…)
So I felt the need to differentiate them.

We had a lot of cases like that in the past and it made people confused (people going to the wrong church for a raid and stuff like that)

We are too

It says: shop with 30 years of activity. It’s the only One in this zone with old comics

Only this

Same honestly.

But as the email says this was not flagged as abuse.

This was flagged as influencing reviewers.

Putting the name of the town at the start of the wayspot’s name is a habit for some players. I personally do that too. I can’t argue if such a thing can be a bad thing for the game or any game based on the lightship database, but if this was Niantic’s reasoning behind the warning/flag, they could have mentioned it as the reason of the flag. They said “influencing the reviewers” not “title too generic”.

Also, just out of curiosity, let’s assume a town (e.g. Salerno) has 2 comics shops that are called generically “Fumetteria” on their sign. How can a player properly submit those without trying to add things like the name of the town or the name of the street into the wayspot title?

So you create multiple POI like “playgroung”, “playground” and “playground”? Don’t you need more distinguishing names? Fumetteria in Italy means comic store. They call themselves like the common Name of what they are. I think she did It to give it more identity.

Anyway…this was not the cause of the warn…

Wayfarer related. So if this was an educational one they give me a ban without a single warning (after hundreds of wayspots online).

Is this email is not a real warning, then the question becomes: which was the first warning? Because, as I mentioned in another commenti, if this is not a formal warning, then she straight got the 30 days ban (which is techinically the second strike) with just one warning. Someone over at Niantic should really take a look at this account and properly tells us what happened.

And so?
I don’t get why are you telling me this.

Also I’m Italian.
We have lots of tourists’ wayspot so we are used to see things in different languages despite we nominate in out own

Did you reply to the emails?

They have the right to ban you without warning depending on what that other email found. I am NOT saying you did anything, just saying that the original did not have to be a formal warning:

This means that a first time offender can be punished with any of the disciplinary actions listed below depending on how severe their offense was.

This also has the link to the ban appeal form if you were banned.
