So to be clear, this is only POI’s submitted through PoGo? It won’t go back in history before the May 23, 2025 split? Correct?

I noticed we had to turn on the notifications option in Pogo to receive these soon to be coming Emails.

Seeing this, from who are we gonna get the Emails? Is it the same one which we get our nomination confirmations, decisions with or is it gonna be a completely different Email coming from Pogo since we had turn on the setting in Pogo and not wayfarer?

Yeah, that’s not my issue with these emails. I started Wayfarer as a PoGo player, later picked up Ingress before the split.

My issue is more with not having control over these emails in Wayfarer, as again, I don’t care to get excessive emails about events and offers from PoGo that usually can be easily found online. Having the emails be controlled via Wayfarer would also be helpful to the Ingress-only users grandfathered in, if they’d like to see how their Wayspots help other games. How exactly are they supposed to control if they get or not get these emails if they don’t play PoGo?

Edit: Just want to add that if these emails can’t be controlled via Wayfarer, a new notification category should be added to PoGo, something like “Wayfarer Stats.”

Gotta say, I love this idea! Makes me curious how many people have visited all the stops I’ve submitted over the years…

A related idea: Any chance of having wayfarer included in our niantic profiles on campfire at some point? That’d be another cool way for wayfarers to get a bit of recognition. (Also, wayfarer map when? PLEASE we need an IITC replacement…)

In any case, I’m looking forward to those emails!

I heard back from the team and the only work around at the moment is to have a Wayfarer eligible Pokémon GO account and linking it to your Wayfarer account. Then having stats in at least one of the email section will lead to receiving the email.

I know this isn’t exactly what you shared above but I’ll share that with the team for future iterations.

Still doesn’t answer how I don’t want event/offer emails, just the Wayfarer stat email once a month. I think having a separate option for receiving just the stat emails can be worked out.

If they are in your Wayfarer account, they are eligible, even if they were submitted via Ingress before the split.

As long as your Wayfarer account is linked with Pokémon GO, if you also had it linked to Ingress then they will be considered for the Visit section of your email. So even if the older accepted nominations are not counted in the new nominations section, any player interaction with them in Pokémon GO in the previous month will still be counted and that will show in the email. Again, the Wayfarer account would have needed to be linked to your Pokémon GO account.

Alright- I just checked and I had that slider off too. I’m not keen on Pogo spam but I will just have to put up with it I guess.

A workaround could be to set a filter for your email to throw anything PoGO related into the trash when it arrives. At least while the team works on another method to sign up for the emails.

My email only will do that when it’s open in a web browser. It’s an older system, and when it’s not open in a web browser, my Wayfarer emails won’t get sent to my Wayfarer folder, even though I have it set up to do so.

@DTrain2002 if it is a other Email sending us these stats, you could block out the Pogo Emails for now to make it spam until a solution is found.

Please note I’ve added a new question to the FAQ section.

  • Will my older accepted nominations count?

    • So, older accepted Wayspots will not be counted in the newly accepted nominations section of the email for that month. However, any player interaction with those older approved nominations in the previous month will still be counted and that will show in the email under the Exploration Enabled by You section.

Um, that’s a crazy idea, marking something as spam for now may cause your email to mark it as spam forever. Even harder to get fixed.
