Reject with reason "likely not permanent or distinct" on Pixiu dragon statue stand on that address more than 10 years

Hello,
I would like to know the description of “permanent”

  • It cannot move
  • It did not move
or it can be 1 of above criteria.

Most of the time I got reject because of my submission look like easy to move but it live in the same address more than 10 years. Could you please guild me?

Title :
2020 ==> https://img5.pic.in.th/file/secure-sv1/lion2020.jpg

It really should be thought of as permanent and/or not distinct. What the reviewers most likely thought was this was not distinct, even though it is permanent.

Your description is very generic and doesn’t tell much about the statue. For example, where are these located at and do they have a relation to that location? To me, these seem to just be decorations at the home improvement store here, and they may actually sell the statues, too, so they don’t seem very distinct.

It is some kind of Religious status. In my country it is generic like “Phra Phum Shrine”. people believe it can protect their house and family. that’s why i did not put the word “believe, it can help to protect the house and family” in the description. we have a lot of Pixiu dragon statue poke stop here. so I think it fail because of permanent issue. How we can know the real reject reason?

So it’s pretty generic in your country, being placed in many different places, so it’s indistinct. Again, it’s permanent AND/OR distinct, so even though this is permanent, reviewers saw this as indistinct since they are common statues all around the country.

Just because something is already a Wayspot doesn’t mean that they currently meet criteria, as that changes from time to time. And most likely these statues are mass-produced and available to purchase at different places, even online, which would make them more indistinct and generic.

Let’s try another distinct submission

if you search “พระแม่ธรณีบีบมวยผม” in google. That is she. She has many versions (dress, make up, pool decoration etc.) but it still fail with the same criteria. (She did not same with anyone except her name). This submission, she sit over that pool more than 5 years.

BTW, what are the definition of Permanent? I still question on that. haha

This also looks like something one could easily purchase, something that is mass-produced. Again, not something that would be considered distinct, even if it’s a permanent feature in the area, as many may have a similar statue.

Permanent is permanent, something that is not likely to be removed anytime soon. However, as I noted before, the question is more of an either/or question. Something can be permanent but not distinct, like an apartment building, for example. Then there are things that can distinct but not likely permanent, like a piece of art at an art gallery that changes their exhibits often. If a nomination doesn’t meet either being permanent or being distinct, it’s ineligible. If it’s likely to be both permanent and distinct, it may be eligible.

This kind of statue is partial hand made (body from the block but decoration, painting are on hand that’s why I think it is difference) .We need to order and waiting for a week to get them. However, May be it did not distinct enough for judge.

There are many statues that are mass-produced as well as hand painted in many countries. Because they are mass-produced though, they are usually seen as indistinct and ineligible.

Hi @nanfah131213
Since the beginning of April the rejection reasons have changed a bit. It’s interesting that you received this “old”, combined reason. Currently it seems that you should receive:
“The submission lacks uniqueness or historical and cultural meaning” (not distinct) or “The submission is likely not permanent” (not permanent).

So my thoughts on your fountain sculpture is, that it’s likely on private property and that you can buy it, even if every sculpture is hand painted and therefore unique, and put it whereever you want (not permanent).
You need to find art in public spaces with official permission of the land owner or the responsible community.
