As you can observe from the image, it’s a local information sign of the whole local area here, which has been staying here for more than 8 years, but I got rejected due to being “not permanent or distinct”.
I would like to ask how I can prove that this information sign is permanent or at least how I could improve my submission to make it accepted?
The nomination is more than the tile and main photo. Context contained within the description, supporting info, and location can give hints on what else can be improved.
In this instance, the rejection is believed to result from on Permanent and Distinct. The “distinct” part may have been the issue for that rejection reason IMO.
I think there were some mistakes or there might be automatically mass rejection in my local area, since all my friends’ submissions also got rejected for unjustified reasons.
If you want or you friends want to post details of other submissions that you think were rejected for unjustified reasons, please do so.
There is no automatic mass rejection in your local area and no mistakes in your submission reviews. Everything is treated the same. (The one exception is if abuse is committed by a wayfinder, all of their pending submissions might be auto-rejected because of that abuse.)
Automatic rejections have its own rejection prompt to show at the nomination details. We have not observed any evidence of mass automatic rejections for specified areas.
It could be possible that the your friends and you have similar problems within nominations. That is why outside perspective can temper your expectations.
I am personally on the fence regarding this POI too. For one, it can be entirely removed and relocated. Maybe Streetview can show that it has been put up here specifically for a long amount of time? Another is that the walls it is attached to may justify its rejection, see this article: Private Residences, Farmland & K-12 to verify if my assumption is accurate.
If the wall is the boundary of single-family private residential property (SFPRP), it is strictly not eligible so don’t retry.
If it is not SFPRP, then proving permanence would be important, as it looks temporary. If streetview shows it over time, then say so in the supporting information.
I submitted a chalk board that was acting as the marker for a community garden. It was rejected the first time and accepted the second time. The only reason it was rejected was because it was a chalk board and therefore the messages on it were temporary.
