Additional Information (if any):
This is literally a run-of-the-mill parking meter. Mass-produced, doesn’t meet any criteria.
Thanks for the appeal, @GeneralSecura. We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
this is a bad joke, is it? another loophole of not meeting any criteria whatsoever, but also not meeting removal criteria?
Ideally what should happen is, that this wayspot gets removed and the submitter and approving reviewers receive a penalty, and not this nonsense.
Okay, guess I have some parking meters to go submit.
submitting blatantly ineligible wayspots is abuse and abuse is a removal reason. this is worse even than the “generic businesses” that wouldn’t be removed before. it’s a foxing parking meter. remove the wayspot and send the nominator and any reviewers who approved it a warning.
Please elaborate, what is it about this particular POI that makes it a great wayspot? Some clarity and communication on these strange decisions would go a long way to regaining some trust from your community and help us learn what you actually want in your database.
My understanding is that something has to be dangerous, fake or permanently removed to be eligible for a removal request, not merely ineligible/bad.
That does seem to be the case but just highlights how flawed the system is, if it clearly should never have been accepted in the first place then it seems logical that it should be removed.
Someone will see this in their game and think its acceptable to submit other, similar things, only to receive a threatening email for abuse as we see far too often.
This just leads to ill-will toward the team and disillusionment in the entire process.
Thank you!!! It is getting increasingly frustrating. Even blatantly ineligible wayspots that meet removal criteria often require far more effort than should be required to get them removed.
This is a ridiculous submission and ridiculous rejection to remove it!
It meets the criteria for removal because it’s abusive submission:
- It should not have been submitted in the first place.
- Reviewers should not have approved it.
Everybody involved in getting this wayspot go live should have their wayfarer access revoked!
If an out of town visitor comes to you, are you going to take them to this parking meter to show off how beautiful and interesting your area is? Hell no!
Up
Hey all! This was further escalated and we have decided to remove the Wayspot. Appropriate actions against the submitter and upvoters will be taken as per policies if required.
Great that you have seen sense. I wonder why these frustrating issues keep coming up so regularly. Maybe the system needs a change as it is clearly failing quite often.
How many people simply give up with the stress and frustration without even knowing that these forums exist. I personally know of quite a few passionate people that have completely lost the will to contribute.
Coming “soon”
Are they well on-target, since they haven’t gotten an AMA out this year?
To be fair, we have seen improvement. Like this post, and especially the removal of disc golf course holes. So I do think they are working on it!
Good. Since you’re rectifying mistakes, how about removing this portable basketball hoop as well?
