Rejected water wall

This doesnt work, we cant see your contributions as they are locked behind your account, you will need to provide a screenshot image.

You need to take a screenshot or screen snip. They had to teach me how to take a screen snip on the Wayfarer Discussion Discord. I did a Google search to make sure I didn’t give you wrong instructions on how to do this, and the ai told me this:

For Windows PCs, use the Snipping Tool (Windows key + Shift + S) to select a specific area.
On a Mac, press Shift + Command + 3 for the full screen or Shift + Command + 4 to select an area.

what more do I need

Hi @jerkboys

I often take screenshots on my phone of the Wayfarer Contributions since I find it easier to do on my phone. Below is an example of a wayspot that I nominated that was rejected. As you can see it takes several screenshots to get the title, photo, description, and supporting information. I select / copy them and then can share it all here.

Note that it pasted them here out of order, but you can see all the information for my submission and why it was rejected.

Hi @jerkboys
I’ve opened a separate thread for you to discuss your water wall nomination.

I am sorry I have failed at teaching you how to screen snip. We still don’t see exactly what your contribution looks like, so I can’t advise you whether I would recommend an appeal or not. Why is your main photo indoors but your supporting photo outdoors? Where did you put the pin?

It is very difficult for me to see a waterfall in your main photo. Maybe the “automated process” had the same issue. Possibly try a wider view including more of the waterfalls and not so focused on the corporate logo? I see another Wayspot at the hospital for Community Hospital’s “Waterfalls” (41.551239, -87.506646) with this photo

Hoping someone else can help you with this. I am not good with indoor nominations.

If these two images are your main photo and the supporting photo, then there are some obvious problems.

The supporting photo should always include the POI. I cannot see it in there. It isn’t officially mandatory, but it is extremely rare for there to be a good reason to avoid including the POI in the supporting photo. (I recently scrambled over a drystone wall with barbed wire on the top in order to take the supporting photo showing the view and the bench for a bench-with-a-view wayspot, because the bench was snuggled right back against the wall and it was impossible to get a decent photo from anywhere other than from behind the bench.)

Secondly, the main photo has junk in it - the chairs and table are not relevant and get in the way of showing what the POI is. I can’t actually tell form that photo that there is any water involved.

You may need to take the main photo at an angle, whatever works best to show that this is a water feature.

ok the “waterfall” should be “waterwall” as water cascades down the glass walls on either side of the crest. Since the water is not on, maybe I should nominate the crest as art?
this is 8 -12 ft away from outside so you can “hit” this if you were outside. what is the radius for a pokestop, 30 feet? I can include an indoor pic but it can easily be spun from the sidewalk outside.

I took my pic to look similar to the “waterfall” about 60 feet away. maybe I should get closer?

The submission location for the waterfall/waterwall should be the location of the waterfall/waterwall. Don’t put it anywhere else because this is a POI without a choice of location (it’s not a playground or a football field).

You can take the picture from anywhere you look, so take it to best advantage to show what the POI is.
