Wayspot Title: Plaque de Cocher Historique – Chemin vicinal N°1 à Joinville-le-Pont
Location: 48.8165653, 2.4686177
City: Joinville-le-Pont
Country: France
I am requesting the restoration of this Wayspot, which was removed despite the physical object still existing at its location.
This is a genuine and permanent historical road marker (“plaque de cocher”) relating to the former Chemin vicinal ordinaire N°1 in Joinville-le-Pont.
I originally submitted it on 19 August 2024 and it was accepted by Wayfarer. After it subsequently disappeared, I submitted the exact same physical object again on 24 July 2026, and it was accepted again.
The plaque is independently documented by Wikimedia Commons ( Page Wikimedia )
, with a photograph of the same object at the same location dating from 24 August 2020. I can also provide current photographs showing that it remains physically present today.
This is therefore a real, permanent and independently documented historical object that Wayfarer itself has already accepted more than once. Other exemples of this kind of objects here :

I am also concerned because this is not an isolated incident. Several legitimate Wayspots I submitted in the same very small area have recently been repeatedly removed despite continuing to exist and being accepted again by Wayfarer.
The person believed to be behind this behaviour is well known among local Pokémon GO players as a player whose repeated actions have been disrupting other players’ experience for years. The local community has independently reached the same conclusion regarding these repeated incidents.
Most recently, after the repeated removal of a Little Free Library Wayspot near my home, a Wayspot representing the same object appeared further away with the description “Boite à livres JAUNE” (“YELLOW Little Free Library”), yellow being the colour of this player’s Pokémon GO team.
I will submit the broader pattern separately as a Wayfarer abuse/harassment report. Niantic has access to the relevant contribution, edit and removal-report history and can therefore independently verify whether the incidents are connected.
For this appeal, I respectfully ask that the removal of this legitimate historical Wayspot be reviewed and that the Wayspot be restored.
