I am reaching out to you because I have encountered an issue with a recent nomination I made on your platform. After submitting my application, it was marked as a duplicate by Niantic, although I am convinced that these are two separate and complementary elements.
Attached, you will find photos clearly illustrating that the elements in question are distinct and deserve to be considered individually. I am therefore seeking assistance to resolve this situation and to obtain information on the procedure for contacting Niantic directly to clarify this misunderstanding.
Thank you in advance for your help and attention to this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need further information.
Hello! I’m not sure why you think your wayspot nomination was marked as a duplicate by Niantic, from your e-mail screenshot it appears to be a community vote. Wayfarer is a community review platform and many nominations are reviewed by other users of the platform.
Here it seems that you are submitting a cafeteria next to a gym that has the same logo (I’m not able to verify the location so only going off what you shared) and it got rejected as duplicate. It is possible that community reviewers looked at the logo and decided this was the same place and others maybe thought these were not distinct enough to be different wayspots. If you are able to demonstrate that these two are separately eligible, you could either use an appeal on this nomination or resubmit it making the two places more clearly distinct, including visually. But you can’t really directly appeal a community rejection on this forum.
Also, don’t feel obliged to post in English, don’t hesitate to use French if you prefer (just because I see it on your Wayfarer interface/emails).
It often seems like reviewers just get used to choosing a certain rejection that may vaguely fit so as not to think about it too much.
I can’t say they are mainly at fault though given years of choosing generic business or some other choice that is good enough… Move on to the next review.
