Rural Area Problem

It’s disheartening to see that due to being in a rural area, our location remains largely unrecognized on Google Maps and other platforms. Because of this, none of the existing infrastructure—like parks, community centers, or fitness areas—shows up properly, and all my PokéStop nominations are getting rejected.

As a result, new trainers in my area are losing interest in the game because there are no PokéStops or Gyms nearby. I’m trying my best to grow the Pokémon GO community here, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult.

There are a few locations that meet the criteria (like Temple and Churches, public gathering areas, local landmarks), but without better map coverage and approval, we’re getting frequently Rejected bh The niantic automation …Please help us bring more PokéStops and Gyms to our area so that rural trainers can enjoy the game just as much as those in urban zones.
Any Suggestions or ideas ?

Hello, I’ve moved your topic as this isn’t a bug.

Can you share some things you have nominated and then people will be able to give further advice. Include images and location (if you feel you can do so).

I have submitted nominations such as Churches , Playground and set , community Hall and centres but their in Que and These Attached are Rejected .in rural area there few Infrastructure and Parks are there , therefore they Should consider our request , becoz Our infrastructure and building doesn’t Like Urvan area

I can see some shared now.

A generic business such as a a drug store isn’t a great place for being social, exercising or exploring.

A fire station Wayspot can obstruct emergency services so would not typically meet criteria either.

I would suggest reading the criteria - Wayspot Criteria — Wayfarer Help Center

Living rurally doesn’t mean you (or Niantic) can turn a blind eye to what’s acceptable and what’s not.

These all seem to be correctly rejected.

What about the Restro-Coom -Fast food ?

The photo doesn’t look great but share the full nomination and let folks here know how you think it meets criteria.

A fast food place like McDonalds typically doesn’t, but a hotspot restaurant can.

Adding an example of a restaurant I nominated.

But The Shared Restro Is hotspot

How? You need to give more details about how it meets criteria

OK, if this is Koloriang (a beautiful place it looks like) then there are a LOT of challenges for submitters.

There’s no StreetView, none of Google Maps, Bing Maps or OpenStreetMap have good mapping of the town. There are all sorts of interesting locations visible on satellite view but I cannot see what they are.

I would suggest looking for things like sport grounds, town halls, post offices, parks, any historic building that isn’t a house, monuments, places of worship. The supporting photo is likely to be key to verification, make sure that photo includes as much of the surrounding area as possible while still containing the wayspot - that will help reviewers check the location. If you can find any web site at all to support your submission, use it.

Why dont we start with some of the easiest…playground and church. Can you share your detail nomination to those? Photo, location, surrounding photo, supporting info

Restaurant might be eligible but that one need lots of convincing information

Just a quick overview from google maps, I would assume those could be more or less easy targets:

  • Holy Cross Parish - A church is typically good
  • Koloriang Playground - Even though there is a wayspot named “General Ground” at this place, I would asume the playground could still be a target
  • MJ(MARADONA JUNCTION)FUTSAL ARENA - Another easy target, might be more than just the football field to nominate here
  • Office Of The District Food & Civil Supply - Seems like a very important Goverment building to the community, and might be considere, just need to understand it further to judge if it’s good or not as a wayspot,
  • Post Office - just as good as it can be
  • KOLORIANG TOWN BAPTIST CHURCH - Another church in the area
  • Bamboo Hut - The restaurant seems like a great place to explore with very beautiful views
  • Rambu bridge - Very interesting bridge with nice views of the nature
  • Chello bridge - Another bridge
  • Circuit House - Looks like it could be an interesting point to explore, but need more information to judge
  • DC Office - Goverment building, need more info
  • Department of UD & Housing - Goverment building, need more info
  • Papi Bridge - Another bridge that looks good
  • Taping Yarda (Hill) - Great views, even if it’s a little bit outside
  • Riya Kiopik Home - Could be private residential, but the story about this elderman was interesting so might work
  • Heli pad - Typically not good, but the photos from it seems like an interesting spot for the people here?
  • Hotel Tatu - Could be interesting, a history with the Miss Universe would be good to ellaborate
  • District Library - Typically a great place to explore

Outside Koloriang I also found this:

  • N Lungte - Hiking area, maybe there is a lot of trail markers that could be nominated as well?

I would avoid the words fast food and nominate as a restaurant that’s a good place to socialize.

I wanted to point you to this topic which may be useful:

I have same problem. I try to submission multi-purpose shelter in rural area too.
Can it be a picnic shelters? == > it have a mat for sit together and have some meal, waiting for children playing in the irrigation canal == > picnic area - ฝากรูป

You did the best job you could do writing this up. But on Street View, it appears to be a storage shed:

It does not look like the purpose of this structure is for the community to come together here, although people may use it that way when empty.

It is multi-purpose shelter as i said. They use it as storage when planting season start (around 2 weeks). for other time, they use it as picnic shelter, sit together and have lunch or take a rest when raining. Children use it as rest area (playing in the water) when they waiting for their parent plant the tree. unfortunately google street map car drive on it is storage purpose.

why i have all of this information == > because I live in that area
and try to have the first poke stop in my area. haha

You are still going to struggle to convince reviewers as it definately looks like it is primarily for storage which is used for the other stuff when not in use.

Unless you can get evidence that it’s primary function is a rest area that is tempary used for storage when required I think this is one that you will have to walk away and try something else.

If you pass the GPS Co-ords people here love to check the maps and suggest possible nominations.

Good luck.

A picnic table would help i guess.

As long as it doesn’t look staged

If it had seating that definately looked like it belonged there but moved to the side whilst it was being used as storage you “might” have a chance.

An official sign that Stated “This picnic area may be closed during busy periods when required for storage” would be better…
