I’m sure most of you are aware of the “For Dummies” books.
Has anyone simplified the explanation of S17/S2 Cells, how they affect the game Pokémon Go, and any other well summarized information (preferably with illustrations) that gets asked a lot. I’ve seen a lot of through threads but I believe sometimes less is more.
I’m not ashamed to admit the info can be overwhelming at times. I’m just a casual Pokémon go player trying to learn, not trying to be an ambassador or anything like that.
Thank you to all that are here constantly contributing and replying to others.
Maybe the next time Criteria Clarification is reviewed it could be renamed “Wayfaring for Dummies”?!

Hey! There’s a great article on Pokémon GO Hub about this, I’m not just saying that because I’m an editor lol
It’s a great resource: https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
If you have any questions after you read through that, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to answer them for you.

The article is decent enough to link people to, but I did notice it could maybe do with a few touch ups here and there. Maybe that’s something that could be looked into?

I can absolutely do that, to be honest I haven’t actually looked through it since Wayfarer launched in 2019, I think that’s the last time it’s been updated if I’m being honest.
If you’ve got specific points that you think need refreshing let me know, otherwise I’ll touch it up in the next week or so as time allows

The main things I noticed:
The table for the amount of gyms in a level 14 S2 Cell says 20-34 for 3 Gyms. This is a leftover relic from when it was believed that 35 Pokéstops created a fourth Gym. The line with 35 in it was removed from the table when it was debunked, but now it just looks strange as it is. It should just say “20+” instead of having an upper boundary.
Other leftover relics include EX raid mentions (they don’t exist any more), and the link to the S2 Region Coverer (that website has been offline for a long time now, it may be better to include something about IITC and Pokémon Go Tools here instead?).
Additionally, level 13 cells are used in determining showcase Pokéstops, with a limit of one showcase Pokéstop per level 13 S2 Cell.

Thanks! I’ll have a look and polish it up in the next few days.
