For something short term, sure… but if its long term construction… yikes.
To me if it’s the same location, similar business or similar use then it should not be removed l, a edit might be in order. For example let’s say it’s a bar and it’s named “freds good time saloon” then someone buys it and calls it " old fashioned good time saloon" the sign outside changes and a free pieces of paper change but the bar is mostly the same old place. Simply request a title and description change, the bar itself didn’t really change. Plus if there are missions attached to that portal removing that portal caused issues with those missions, changing the name doesn’t.

What if the old bar was great place that the locals loved, and now the new place has an owner who is a prick and horrible staff?
To me feelings are not waypoints. But honestly with at the things that get passed as waypoints now I don’t know what to say for certain on what should or should not qualify. Just that removing portals can have a few different unintended side effects.
Not far from me there is a run of the mill Shaw’s supermarket that was made into a portal. Even the description doesn’t really say why it should be a portal.
I also know of a street in foxboro ma ( baker st ) which is a bunch of private residents homes that are portals because the homes are historic. The funny part is someone even made it a mission.
If these are SFPRP (single family private residential property) then they should be reported for removal.

…as that would all be irrelevant. 
it is the pub, it is the place to socialise and in the circumstances you describe it is a great place to go and have a good moan about the owner …another great British pastime suitable for all ages.

Feelings are not, but criteria dictates them… and if a bar no longer meets that criteria, then i shouldnt be a waypoint. Its best for reviewers to decide rather than assume a business taking over automatically meets criteria.
Criteria is international, and the process should be standard. Just because you put up with lousy beer, doesnt mean the rest of us do. We can quickly sink bad bars if they dont offer a great product or customer service.

O they are, but it’s an area I no longer travel to. I still have the keys so I would believe they are still there. The mission is “private residences of foxboro” I guess the mission name didn’t raise any flags to Niantic when they reviewed it. They must have also not checked zoning or street view.

Going back to the Original Poster Cough Cough It looks like the wayspot that I submitted an edit for has been changed to the new building and is considered to be a new stop. Not sure if someone had submitted a removal and a new wayspot, but whoever did it, thank you.
