Don’t rely on the description / supplimentary info as being the deciding factor as to how or why they were approved. Is it possible that the community approved it? Sure. But we don’t have enough information to know this for sure.

I have absolutely no idea, why do they approve Walmart, Lowes, and Target……to have more portals or because they work there. But thats not why we have portals submitted. They are supposed to be of significant meaning to the community. The same goes for the Ice Skating Rink portal that is located in the middle of the Carpenter Steel Melting Plant. Why do I think it was approved, because the individuals who approved it couldn’t verify, or didn’t try to verify, that it wasn’t an actual thing in the actual spot to know so approved it to keep their Wayfarer Stats up. I disapprove anything I can’t prove is there, YES I google things, I search Google Maps and try to find what is being submitted. I don’t think that Signs for communities are significant meaning to the community. Who cares that you live in a house in the back of that development. Now if it was……no never mind there is no reason to approve a development sign. Same for a gas station, a Walmart, Target, Lowes, grocery stores and so on.
Oh yeah, what about shopping center signs. How are they significant to the community. Now things like the Washington’s Chapel at Valley Forge National Park. The Chapel which has the story of George Washington the is the stained glass windows around the chapel and not the story of Jesus. Behind the chapel, there is a grave yard that has individuals from the revolutionary war to the September 11th attacks burin it. That is a worthy Portal……Sheetz, Walmart, Target, Lowes and so on ruin the value of the portal network.
