my question here is about for example if there is a waypoint with a companies sign like glowing glasses for an optician why did it get approved but a goldsmith’s art sign that looks like something they created get rejected as waypoint because it violates criterias?
there are several examples like that and that includes sculptures that are apparently on private property but are accessible by the public and approving them seems arbitary…
Each nomination need to be treated with its own merit. Nomination is decided not only because its foto, but also title, description, supporting foto and information, and its location. Noone but staff know what trigger AI rejection. Business logo like this might be eligible but the onus is on submitter to convince reviewer that the object is unique enough.
If you really convince that its eligible, you can appeal or resubmit with new fresh foto. Try changing the foto angle. Sometime its what needed to pass AI check. Make sure the foto follow foto guideline.
as example for what i mean with private property but some get approved and some denied if you walk down some streets. just want to avoid to nominate or appeal or report stuff thats pointless.
yea most of them are multi family buildings and that makes it strange to get denied based on private property specially if the city owns some of the building for example.
it would save so much time if people could see the level 14 + 17 cells ingame under uploads for a new wayspot… including nominating or appealing or asking in the forums if the spot will never appear anyways as it is already taken…
The biggest difference between the Wayspot you took as an example and the submission you tried is that your photo is not focussed on the actual sign that is of interest, the shop itself fulfilsl the generic business rejection criteria. So you’d need to change the photo.
Not all “shaped” signs for business should be accepted, they can only be eligible with the “Explore” for the art and to be honest 1 mans art can literally be another mans pile of trash.
IMO: I could see myself pointing out the Goldsmiths sign, I don’t think I would with a pair of lit up glasses.
So I agree that the Goldsmiths could be considered as Acceptable but as I would have rejected the opticians they are different reviews.
And as commonly stated on these forums “Never use what’s already on the map as evidence of what is Acceptable”.
