So Confused

So one sign at a park is okay, but at a different park it’s not okay… make it make sense.

Welcome to the forum!

These appear to just be directional signs, which would not be eligible per this clarification

Possibly the extra green space in the first one made the “automated process” let it through in case it was a trail marker, but the latest one didn’t have that. We don’t know exactly what the Machine Learning model is checking for, but that would be my guess.

Welcome to the forums

These signs don’t meet eligibility criteria, but if one gets past the automated check, it might get accepted by the community reviewers.

Hello @xMorpheus612x

What an amazing huge park.

Signs like those are directional signs so not eligible to accept, but I don’t think they will meet removal criteria at this stage.

I see there are lots of signs like this one

That all look very similar and have very similar titles.
The map is great and each is obviously identifying a point on the trail. The map shows a separate number for each - this is 22. I would like to recommend tgat edits are submitted to include the point number in the title as it helps identify each as unique. Certainly if there are more to do then this is how they should be done.

When it comes to activities such as Disc Golf then the sign to mark the start is fine, however they are regarded as one field of play so individual holes should not be submitted.

The beach area seems to have a lot of potential for wayspot submissions as there are distinct parts viewable on satelite with only a few wayspots.

It’s snowing so I have to wait till grass is around the sign? :woman_facepalming:

It’s not open year round and some spots you won’t be able to reach from the trail or parking lots.

No, that was not my point. I was trying to think of why the automated process made the mistake of allowing that one through. The statement I was trying to address was

Please do not resubmit this.

Those directional signs there’s probably 60 of them around Minnesota that were accepted, that’s what’s frustrating.

Thats how community review works. It depends on who review them. Sometimes its got accepted by people wo want more pokestop, sometimes it got accepted by new wayfarer. But if ineligible nomination got approved, its also can be reported by community.

This is an issue with Wayfarer. Education is lacking. Many people submit and accept what they see in game, not by criteria. If you come to the forum for advice, we will advise based on criteria.

And to make it even more confusing, a lot of things that are accepted incorrectly do not seem to meet whatever the internal staff guidelines are for removal, so they stay on the game board.

I gave advice based on criteria.

That doesn’t matter for wayfarer purposes. People who are visiting the park will love using those PoIs if you add them. Not everyone needs to be able to use them. Looks like a super fun area to build out :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Exactly. Why are people so concerned with pokestops like just let me have pokestops at the parks I and others visit, you don’t win an award for denying pokestops. You go to Japan you have thousands of pokestops in 1 park because people approve them instead of acting like hall monitors. Especially with the inconsistency of approvals.

Same signage as a nature preserve, denied at one park, approved at another :woman_shrugging:

Wayspots are intended to represent real things that are either great for Exercise, great for being Social or great for Exploration. If this is ignored, accepting wayspots even though they don’t meet this criteria, then you could have wayspots anywhere for pretty much anything.

That would be a different system, would change the games and would also destroy wayfarer.

Borderline submissions will often get different results, depending on the reviewers, the details provided, the photo, the location etc. Imagine it takes 100 reviews and Acceptance will be the result if 60 people accept. One submission might get 55 acceptances, another might get 65. Similar reviews but different overall result.

Please remain respectful of fellow wayfinders who are correctly following the rules.
Multiple similar signs will start to fail on consideration if they are distinct or not.

You were given ideas for more wayspots but you seem to have your own view on acceptability.

It is not wise to compare what you have to what you see elsewhere. In some places there are a lot of sponsorships and this makes for a very dense area.

I would suggest contacting your local Pokemon Go Community Ambassador ( via Campfire) and see if there are any local plans for a campsite here which would increase pokestops and gyms as they are added by PoGo, and this park seems a nice place.
