Just found this website and it shows you all of the WWI and WWII war defences on a map. The ones that are red are still there and the ones in yellow are destroyed. It shows you where they are and if they’re publicly accessible aswell.
The website is called edob map

Oh no…I could spend hours looking at this.
I’m glad to see that something I thought was a WW2 defence position is recorded and is what I thought it is - not in an accessible location.
And in Cornwall at last I have some other info to go on for more research…how do you convince people a slab of concrete is interesting
Oh and it is missing an old airfield …and
I better stop.

Oh dear …we’ve lost @elijustrying now,we’ll find her in a dark corner covered in dust in the not to distance future 2075 holding a rare archive book.
A plaque will go up in the corner that says:-
“@elijusttrying” she did what was needed of her to keep up to date on history and wayfarer criteria - we will dedicate this spot with a Book Statue with a pair of eyes.

I guess its not everything than. Most WWI and WWII defences than. Just had a look at a former raf base near me and it has about 20 defences still there, even though most of them are off limits. Looks like i have some nominations to do
The one I found (and submitted) is listed on this website:
Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust - UK (abct.org.uk)

There was a two story pillbox at the former raf base near to me and it would’ve been a great nomination but it got removed for a planning application for loads of houses

Mine is next to railway as in right next to the track. So not safe. Such a pity there isn’t a way to tell people about it when they can’t go and stand there. A sort of not usable but you might want to look.
There’s a thought If I submit the trail marker I could sneak the fact you can see it into the description.

Yeah, the majority of them are on private property but they’re still great to use for other nominations descriptions
I was down in my local valley a few days ago that’s quiet but still very busy with restaurants and museums and my battery was running low plus phone & data signal wasn’t great.
However next to an iron sculpture marker for another route there was a marker called WWII Pillbox,I looked around for it but while someone had linked it up (ingress) I couldn’t find it.
The only thing I didn’t do was climb the road all the cars were coming down to have a snoop and attempt to take out the ingress player but I never get defeated I WILL find it if it still exists
It was to close for comfort,so not being able to see it annoyed me.

I am questioning the accessibility of the wayspot??
But perhaps there was a lot of undergrowth at this time of year?
Looking back at it I think its user submitted.
Went and checksd for a cpuple of the ones on the map, turns out they are on private land and the people whk own it dont want visitors lol ah well
