I’m back in buisness and just had my “first” nomination fly through in 24 hours.
Is this “standard” nowadays or was I just really lucky?
Plus how long is the wait for appeals to go through in general?

These superfast decisions are coming by ML (machine learning). If your nomination is judgable by ML you’re a lucky man and get this fast track (24 - 48 h).
If your nomination can’t be judged by ML and goes into community voting the time frame depends on the amount of reviewers in your area, if you live more rural or not and if you have used an upgrade.
It could last from maybe 2 weeks up to years.

How do I know what nominations are judgable by ML? Or is that a Niantic secret?
Its really random, have a lot same nominaties from trail markers 50% accepted whitin 24 hour other 50% in wait or voting, even pulled back a nominatie that tooks over weeks, nominated it again and accepted in 24 hours.
In fact, we don’t that.
I don’t think that it is random like @Panjadraakj assumed.
I think it’s a mixture that community decisions on the same kind of item are needed to evaluate ML decisions and to train the ML.
We recognize, that the ML does more and more judgments. It is active learning.

But between de accepted one is also one in waiting or voting, while all the nominations are of the same trail, or the still in waiting line for ML. Or like you say one go to Communitie to teach ML but if Communitie rejected it dont teach much to ML
We don’t know that.
Maybe the ML learns why and where reviewers are struggling. Why this nomination isn’t a slamdunk …

Was your nomination in voting or in queue when you used your upgrade?
After how much time you use the upgrade?
That can be working as intended or not.
Since 3 september till today in waiting line… in queue used upgrade this morning so it went in voting After using the upgrade

And you don’t put it on hold before?
No never put something on hold.
But mine upgrade don t work on trail markers.
And all diffrent ones, hiking, horse trails, cycling trails, all used upgrade on. Can confirm it when the horserider pole markers get accepted whitout upgrade, but can still take sometime before the go in voting.
Then most markers get accepted whitin 24 hours, but the ones whit upgrade get rejected whit a few hours also got upgrade accepted but on restauraunt playground infosigns sport signs, seems only add trail markers, maybe because there is no google map view… but here definitely there is google maps view, dont know what it is.
I use only upgrade on that are in queue, and then the one that is waiting the longest most of the times
