Sprint Store Sponsored Stop in Construction Zone

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Sprint Store

  • Location (lat/lon): 35.773885,-78.760617

  • City: Cary, NC

  • Country: US

  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):

  • Additional Information (if any): This Pokestop is still live, although the mall was demolished in March 2022. From my report

Cary Towne Center was demolished in March 2022. See Cary Towne Center - Wikipedia

The land is now owned by Epic Games, which is supposed to be building a headquarters there. Private property is the closest reason I could choose for “the mall doesn’t exist anymore.”

The response was that Niantic would have to check with the sponsor, but Sprint Store does not exist now either afaik:

The Sprint brand officially discontinued on August 2, 2020.

Customers with Sprint accounts were fully migrated to T-Mobile in the summer of 2023 officially discontinuing the Sprint brand.

This lone Pokestop (not Wayspot) sits in the middle of a construction zone where Epic Games has razed the old Cary Town Center Mall, but not yet built their new headquarters.

Please remove this Pokestop.
