Stops and gyms removed

So I am curious if anyone can help. Since onset of game POGO there has always been stops and gyms at cottonwood Park in Colorado springs. I went to park yesterday and several stops and gyms have been removed. I am wondering if I resubmit those same stops will they come back to game, or who can I call or contact to see the justification behind this?

Hello @Rareified23

I’m not sure what is going on in your park at the moment, but others should be able to investigate. It is definitely a surprising/ frustrating situation. The only thing I can guess is that there may be some redistribution if the park had spots that had been manipulated in the past.

An additional note - you don’t need to post this in multiple threads. That will be very confusing for you and other forum members to keep track of responses. I’d recommend deleting the other threads if no one has responded yet.

Don’t. If they were removed for criteria issues, it could be seen as abuse to resubmit them. Even if the new ones were approved, they would not be the same pokestops and gyms with all the same routes, etc, attached.

The correct way to ask for these back is in Wayspot Appeals . There you should present the best case you can as to why they should be returned, for example, that they still exist and meet critieria. If it was because of a property owner request, they will not be restored, but only staff can tell you if that was the reason.

I don’t see any removed Wayspots in Cottonwood Creek Park. Having said that, we’re constantly making improvements to Pokémon GO and occasionally, you may notice changes to the PokéStops or Gyms in your community. While we are not able to fulfill your request to add back these locations at this time, we recognize the disappointment this may have caused and hope you continue to seek out adventures at other PokéStops and Gyms in your surrounding communities.

oh if this was a disc golf course, then the individual tees/holes could have been correctly removed from game without the wayspots being removed - i don’t know why they do it that way without removing the wayspots

It’s no problem. I can be hard to navigate the forums when you first start to use them.

There are stops and gyms removed i promise as it happened yesterday and I would love to talk to someone as to why removal from a park and how do we get them back.

Like Cyndie noted, these seem to be disc golf tees/holes, which are ineligible. There can only be 1 Wayspot for an entire disc golf course, as Wayspots for the tees/holes may interfere with play and be unsafe to access.

I’m guessing they might still be in Ingress, since Wayfarer has split from Ingress, hence why they may still be on the Ingress Intel map.

So even though they have been in game since 2016 now all of the sudden they have to be removed I mean it doesn’t make since

Criteria can change over time. Sometimes things that were submitted during the early days might not necessarily meet the current criteria.

The wayfarer team have clarified that disc golf courses only get one wayspot to represent the course as a whole, so any individual holes that were submitted are considered duplicates because they still represent the same course. They’ve been fixing situations like this for around a year now, when they’ve been made aware of them.

They have also been fixing similar situations with play areas, where each individual piece of play equipment has been submitted. Again, there should only be one wayspot to represent the play area as a whole.
