Street Wall Paintings/In door wall Paintings/ Construction Plaque/Similar Catagories

In major cities of Pakistan, Google Maps and similar services aren’t very reliable. How should we nominate objects like construction plaques, monuments, street wall paintings, indoor paintings, etc., when there’s no way to provide concrete proof for our claims?

I’ve nominated many POIs not on Street View. The important thing is to show the POI with the surrounding area, as well as give some directions in the supporting info, such as it’s located near this area or this street, etc.

If any of these POIs have info online, such as on a website or social media, those links can be helpful, too. I try to do a web search before nominating to see if there is any info online, and if there is a good site, I provide the link in supporting info.

You may also want to see if there is another online map that is better for Pakistan, better at showing the area than Google Maps/Street View. For example, many South Korean nominations may include a link to Naver, which may have more accurate info on their map that Google for South Korea.

I don’t think splats are recommended right now, as they do contain your username, and we’re not supposed to know who submitted something.

You can use an app such as Camera GPS. I use this for trails in woodland areas. This prints the coordinates onto the photo so you can demonstrate where the supporting photo was taken from.

Does it helps you? In museum, indoor places or in the woods maps and satellite and much worse than outside and we only can submit two pictures/ one supporting pic.

In the end , its up to reviewer judgement . And its submitter’s job to give as many supporting photo and / or description so that reviewer can be sure of your nomination. Without street view, its very challenging for reviewer to distinguish between fake nomination and a real one. A lot people want home pokestop and home gym badly that they submit fake nomination. So it become difficult for reviewer if this happen. People dont usually submit fake in museum and forest so the absent of street view is less critical.

The supporting picture is your chance to tackle location issues. So this enables GPS data. You can create a collage of photos….i would recommend no more than 3 photos in a collage as it is small. But it is another way of cramming in more information for the reviewer to assess and as result have confidence in how to decide.

Imagine you’re visiting a remote location far from home, a hidden gem that’s easy to access. You discover an intriguing point of interest and want to nominate it. However, you only have your mobile phone and nothing else. This is a place where few people engage with the activities associated with the nomination process. I’m providing this context to emphasize that, with minimal resources at your disposal, you need to persuade reviewers who are likely unfamiliar with this location. Additionally, you don’t have extra time to gather pictures or compile a proper nomination. (Naturally, maps or other helpful materials are not an option.)
How are you gonna convince your audience?
