Hi
This request is unfairly refused because Google Street is not up to date,
And since we can only post 2 photos, how do you want to prove that this work is on the wall ?
I have some questions if I may.
I like street art, but I have to try and look at this from the point of view of a reviewer.
1 : No on an open and secure street side building
2 : I don’t know, I’m not a street art specialist
3 : No, this is the second photo that I used to illustrate the pokestop
4 : I used the title that the artist used. It’s written in the little corner “Ne pas avoir les yeux en face des trous”
I don’t know how to do more here ? They must also trust the players
Personally, I think you’ve done what you could. By having your supplemental photo show the office or business next-door and the sign on the street in front, reviewers should be able to verify that the area is the same as street view, even if the mural is not there.
Is there a way to take your supplemental photo that adds any other landmarks for reviewers? I wouldn’t think that’s necessary as a reviewer, but maybe that would be more convincing for some.
I thought I did well by taking a photo of the work from across the street for easier examination.
depending on your surrounding area it can be more helpful to have an angled shot with the art piece still visible, but looking into the street or onto a landmark instead of having basically the same angle twice, but a few steps back.
I did an image search and did find an instance on Instagram, so it does definitely exist. If you are able to find the artist name, would it be worth (if not done already) adding a link to the Artist portfolio in the supporting info?
A couple of links I found. Don’t know if it’s worth including these?
Thank you for proving my words, it is true that I did not put a link, I did not know that it was ok, but I had put the name of the artist in the additional information
Links in supplimentary section is fine, just not in the Description or Title. I am wondering, and I may be overthinking this, but you may want to give the Description a bit more substance. I don’t know what I could add to it, but I think it may be missing something.
Thanks for clarifying.
Yes there is no problem.
Apart from not having put the artist’s Instagram link in the additional part, I think that the title and the photos and the area respects all the rules.
I will have to reapply or will Niantic be able to reverse their refusal?
If the staff on here can review the appeal and can overturn it, that would be a bonus. But if they can’t review it, I would definitely resubmit it.
The nominations was submitted at an incorrect location away from the actual location of this object. The object cannot exist at the location it was submitted. We standby our decision.
I guess the OP needs to make sure that the artwork is submitted at the correct location… if possible.
So is it because of a bug in my GPS that the problem is? So I have to resubmit a request and normally it should be validated by the community.
Rightly or wrongly, accuracy does matter. Reviewers don’t know if you are having a genuine GPS issue. The one thing I have observed in Pokemon Go is that if you go into the Uploads / New Pokestop screen, the GPS location is fixed at the location that you started to go into the menu, even if you haven’t got to your final destination. So the destination could be 2 miles away, and Pokemon Go thinks you haven’t left. Also, if you are having genuine GPS location, as part of the upload process, you can move the location to match where you are (I think it’s within 10m’s). If you can’t change the location to point to where the correct locaiton is, it’s something that we can’t really help with.
Well, then there’s that. I think we were all assuming the nomination was otherwise correct. @Bofi correct location is essential.
I loosely translated the rejection message from Niantic. It all makes sense now. I wish the penny dropped sooner.
