Struggling with Local Business submissions

I’ve been making an effort these past weeks to add some more small businesses to a rural downtown area. While a good chunk of them have gotten to the voting process, a certain few are caught by the Niantic Bot.

I’ve used my two appeals and the reasoning for both of them was to add better information on those stops, which I completely understand. However, once I added better information, the spots still are rejected. Checking the map there is only power spot imports on those locations, which shouldn’t be a problem with a valid submission.

Here is two locations I thought were valid, but were automatically denied:

  • Tattoos by Camilla
  • Description - “Established by a local artist committed to custom artistic expression in tattoos and piercings.”
  • Supporting Information - “This tattoo parlor has been active for 20+ years, with plenty of raving reviews easily findable online.”

  • Blondies Hair Harbor
  • Description - “Founded in the Willmar Lakes Area in 1996. This beauty salon has experienced and personable stylists that help with any beauty care needs.”
  • Supporting Information - “The salons information can be found on facebook. Walking in or calling is how most customers interact with the shop.”

On my next submission for the hair harbor, I will change the supporting information to specify better sources and better purpose to the local area.

Hey, Tattoo studios are explicitly not allowed as they are an adult location

Appreciate that, how about the beauty salon? Was there anything specifically with that location?

Your nomination just says it’s a business. But it has to be related to at least one of the criteria: Exploration, Excercise or Socialising. Just because they exist for almost 30 years doesn’t mean it fulfills any of those

Alright! I’ll make sure for any future submissions I point out any of those factors.

Please note that the powerspot imports were generally not for things which would be eligible as wayspots. Please don’t use the powerspots as indicators of what can be submitted.

I am aware of this. I had only listed this factor to point out that there weren’t any duplicates of the submission I made. Not that it changes that the tattoo parlor is not an eligible submission.
