Submission was declined by Niantic's automated process for not adhering to Wayfarer criteria

Can someone help me understand why this was rejected by Niantic’s automated system?

It doesn’t meet criteria. It isn’t somewhere for Social, Exercise or Exploration.

In order to be accepted, a wayspot has to not fail any of the rejection criteria

  • it has to be safely accessible to pedestrians
  • it can’t be on school grounds, single-family private residential property, farmland
  • it has to exist at the location given
  • it has to have a reasonably accurate title and description

It also has to meet one of the key criteria

  • Exploration
  • Exercise
  • Social

Something can pass all the rejection reasons but still not be eligible because it simply isn’t meeting criteria. Please have a look at these for understanding what makes a good wayspot.

Personally i would reject that because i dont think it fit exploration/socialize/exercise category

That’s fair enough, I’ve just seen other veterinary clinics around this area as active wayspots so I was a little confused.

I don’t disagree. I’ve just seen other vet clinics in the area as active wayspots so I was a bit confused. I get it though, everyone has different interpretations of criteria.

Ah  Three main possibilities - the first one is most likely.

The existing wayspots are imported powerspots and not pokestops/gyms. The imports do not obey wayfarer criteria and should be ignored when trying to understand what the criteria are.

The existing wayspots are user-submitted wayspots which don’t meet criteria, but the submitter managed to convince reviewers that they did.

The existing wayspots are user-submitted wayspots which do meet criteria, but there is something about them which makes them eligible, even though you do not know what this is.

General advice: don’t use what is already on the game board as a guide to what is eligble.

Case in point, this clinic has an imported wayspot from the power spot data import explained here:

Those imports are not eligible to be used as Pokestops (or gyms). Well, except in parts of the world that don’t have enough Pokestops and gyms where they decided to promote them anyway. It does get very confusing. (More PokéStops and Gyms coming to India and Indonesia)
