Suggested a pokestop it meet all the right criterias but still didn’t get approved.
Welcome to the forum!
I know people say stuff like this all the time on other platforms, but if you spend any time on this forum, you will see that we love submissions that meet criteria and can be accepted. Rejecting stuff is not fun.
If you post screenshots of your contribution, we may be able to give you advice on it.
Hello and Welcome,
Not meant to sound harsh but most of the regulars on here will admit that they nominated items in their early days that they thought met criteria but then found out it didn’t. Mine was a Bus Shelter! In my defence it was Stone Built which isn’t standard round here but “it’s still a bus stop”.
One possibility is the object does meet one or even all three of the main criteria (Social, Exercise, Explore) but is in a location that isn’t allowed such as "Single Family Private Residence Property (SFPRP), School that caters primarily for under 18s, No safe access.
Another possibility is that not all criteria is a simple Yes / No answer. Nominators may “squeeze” an object to one of the criteria. The example I usually give is a “Dog Poo Bin”. You may plan your “Exercise” Dog Walk to pass these, you may chat to other dog walkers “Social” and you could “Explore” what breeds the other dogs are. Still not an Accept… ![]()
As stated above, if you supply the details of your nomination (both images and all text) and if you are happy to do so the GPS Co-Ords the people here will advise…
- Is it definitely a No and Why.
- Could you improve anything and re-submit.
- Is there anything else in the local area that is a better nomination.
Good Luck.
Applying the criteria more harshly is very different from rejecting everything that meets the criteria just to be nasty — so no, you haven’t really been proven wrong here.
Then you have confirmed that you don’t think they are trying to be “nasty” - just reviewing by what they perceive to be the criteria.
Absolutely not. The key is that they knowingly apply it harsh, not that they inadvertently apply it harshly due to their perception. It is nasty because it is intentional. They know the bar, and choose to exceed it.
There is no Applying it harsh. It is applying it as people read the criteria.
We could quite easily state “We have regular active posters who have admitted to applying the criteria more leniently while reviewing. They do so because they think they are improving the map by flooding areas.”
Not everybody believes that flooding the map is better for the game therefore sticking to the criteria is the correct thing to do.
Can we all step back a bit and wait for @4Tw3nty to reply?
I’m sorry about your luck with your nomination. I’m sure we could help give a look at it and see what could be done to get it accepted, if possible.
I “liked” his post, that doesn’t mean I agree with the terminology and every single point he made.
As stated above I do not believe there is any “harsh” its either applying it has you read the criteria or going against your reading of the criteria.
It is not harsh to Reject a nomination that you believe does not meet criteria.
As there has already been a warning above I will step back from this thread and hopefully we can get back to helping the OP.
Hey @4Tw3nty, welcome to the community!
As others have requested, sharing more details about your nomination helps our community provide better advice and support, so please feel free to share them when you’re ready.
Thank you all for engaging in this thread. Please note that a few comments have been removed to help keep the discussion focused.
Let’s try not to immediately agree or disagree with the OP’s claims without having the specific details of the nomination. Doing so can confuse them and distract the community from providing actionable help. Please keep personal opinions or experiences out of this discussion, or provide context when you share them.
If you are so sure that your nomination meet all criteria, appeal it. If appeal rejected appeal here. You can ask for advice here before doing appeal by posting full detail on your nomination (photo, location, supporting information, title, desc, etc)
Occasionally even eligible nomination can get rejected. Thats what appeal are for. You have 2 appeal, each on 15 days cooldown.
