Wastop rejected appeal

Welcome to the forum @Julian880077 !

Are you trying to appeal a rejected nomination? You do that through your contributions page. You get two appeals, each on a 15 day timer before you can use them again. If you don’t see the Appeal button, then you don’t currently have one to use.

I do not believe this sign meets any of the criteria of a great place to exercise, explore, or be social: Niantic Wayfarer

I know that the prompt tells you that you are submitting a “Pokestop” but you are actually submitting a Wayspot that may or may not be used in Pokemon Go. The supporting section should not say why this would be good for the game, but help convince that it is a place that meets acceptance criteria I stated above. And any instructions the reviewer may need to help verify the place exists where you say it does and is what you say it is.

When you post here, it is more helpful for us to give advice if you can give us screenshots from your contributions page showing the rejection reasons: Niantic Wayfarer

We would love to help you be successful in adding locations to your community.

Hello and welcome
I removed the duplicate post in the appeals area, as this is the correct place for advice.

Edit: I have merged in the 3rd post as there is further information.

Star villas it’s a big area where you will see people cycling, walking their pets etc. in the area of star city, I see people regularly putting their Pokemon in gyms yet the amount of stops are so minimal and I want to change am that and hopefully you do to starting with this

this is the third post on the same topic. see my reply here:

If you would like to leave a location, we can have a look on Maps and see if we can recommend anything to submit.

Dear Cyndiepooh,

I am really sorry for my mistake. Thank you for helping me guide through this process. It would be really helpful if you and others could recommend anything to submit. I will write why this sign and location is a great place and fits into the criteria below.

What is star villas and why is it a good place to socialize, exercise, etc?

I feel like there are lots of areas in star city yet this is in the middle of all the new and upcoming projects and it’s not in an A or B building yet still pretty close to another pokestop which is called Dulwich college Yangon and it is pretty close with the star city sports club. When I walk my dog out, I always see lots of people gathering around this area, heading towards the star city sports club, going for a run around the star villa neighborhood and socializing with each other. This is why I feel like this place is fitting to be a pokestop and I really want to help my community. I lived in Bangkok for 4 years and during the 2025 go fest global, i went to Siam paragon to meet and play Pokemon go with a community for the first time. It was also the first time I bought the global ticket and it was a huge experience for me and taught me the values and the benefits of a great community. In myanmar, people don’t know much about how to make pokestops but I genuinely want to change that. If this pokestop isn’t accepted then I will still try and make more and hopefully you are onboard too.

In general normal residential sign is not eligible because it doesnt considered to be a great place to explore/socialize/exercise .

But there are some that is quite artistic that explore worthy. I wont comment whether your sign is good enough or no. If you believe your nomination is explore worthy, let your local community decide. But if it get rejected, dont be discouraged. You should move on and find other thing.

It appears that Star City is a development in Thanlyin, Myanmar. I did a search on Google Maps for Star Villa Star City, and this is what I got:

The logo on the sign matches this residential development’s logo:

Dear Tjomei and DTrain2002,
From my description, would you think it deserves a pokestop if not why because I see people gather around the area all the time

Dear TjoeMi and DTrain2002

They think it’s a great idea but they don’t have emails or anything to like review it. It’s in the centre of the city and we want to build our community and socialize as well.

To be blunt, No.

It is just a generic estate sign.

The criteria isn’t that people do Socialise, exercise or explore here as that could be anywhere, people could gather on the street corner, run to the shops etc and this doesn’t make these eligible.

Usually a good pointer is what where they made for, these are usually just to advertise the neighbourhood not as places that meet criteria.

Like i said before, normal residential sign usually got rejected. But i am not seeing the whole picture, i have no idea about history of the sign nor i know its significance to the community. Its your job as submitter to highlight this.

My suggestion is to remove all pogo term and speak fact about how this nomination is good for explore/socialize because i doubt its about exercise. . Your supporting info might be seen as influencing reviewer and instead get rejected

I’m also a no. This area has so many other great POIs that may be eligible, and an entrance sign to one of the subdivisions of the development really doesn’t meet criteria of a great place to be social/exercise/explore. It may have also been put up to be a directional sign for those touring the development, or even a sign for the developer to advertise the subdivision.

If’s very unlikely that this will get approved, so you may need to move on and try to find something else that meets criteria in and around Star City.
