I am writing to respectfully appeal the 30-day suspension on my Wayfarer and Pokémon GO account.
The rejected nomination was a normal graffiti of an Amstaff dog. I submitted it thinking it was a harmless, neutral piece of local street art. I had no intention to harass, offend or show aggression toward any person or group. I now understand that this breed can be sensitive for some reviewers, and I regret not realizing that.
I had one previous warning and was trying to follow the rules more carefully. This was an honest mistake due to lack of awareness.
This suspension is especially difficult for me because it falls exactly during the local GO Fest, an event I had been preparing for and looking forward to for months. I invested a lot of time, effort and money into participating.
I sincerely apologize for the violation. I have learned my lesson and will be much more careful with future nominations, avoiding any potentially sensitive topics.
I kindly ask you to review my case and consider lifting or reducing the suspension so I can return to positive participation in the community.
Thank you very much for your time and understanding.
Welcome to the forum, and I am sorry it is under these circumstances.
Staff will normally respond to these posts with a DM. Have you already appealed through the link in the email?
That wording about harassment is just the way the abuse flag reads. It is normally not about the text. Most often, it is about misplacement of the pin or third party photos, but there are other reasons for the abuse flag. The email example should have been clearer what the violation was.
Welcome. I am sorry to hear all this. Are you sure your suspension come from wayfarer and not pogo?. If your suspension come from wayfarer, you should receive email like this.
Please recheck all email in the past that might be related to pogo/niantic games. It will show which nomination trigger the suspension. The email will have link to appeal your suspension. Niantic staff will review your appeal. If you didnt receive any email, you can wait for staff to DM you.
“Reviewers cited the following main reasons for rejecting this submission:
The text or photo contains name-calling, ridicule, or harassment directed at a specific person or group.”
Yesterday I got a notification like that on Wayfarer, and today I got a ban for a fake submission…
It appears that they believe you submitted a fake wayspot, you may be able to appeal this suspension if you can prove it does exist. You can always share your nomination, so we can see if we can help you make your case. Naturally we can only help you if the wayspot actually exists in real life.
You will have got an email that said which wayspot submission was the cause of the ban. Can you post the details of that email (with personal info redacted)?
The “Abuse” rejection narrative can be flagged for a nomination for any of the following reasons (roughly in order of how often they occur):
* The photo is not yours (e.g., taken from streetview, found on another website)
* The wayspot location pin is misplaced
* The wayspot is deliberately misrepresented (e..g., on school property but pretending it isn’t)
* The nomination is believed to be fake
* Another nomination was flagged and all of yours have been flagged as a consequence
* The text itself is abusive
* The nomination is controversial and likely to be offensive (e.g., a mural of terrorists)
* (there may be others)
