[Sync Error] Accepted Wayspots not appearing in Intel Map/Lightship - 4 nominations from Dec 31 & Jan 10

Subject: [Sync Error] Accepted Wayspots not appearing in Intel Map/Lightship

Description:
Hello Niantic team,

I have 4 Wayfarer nominations that were accepted by the community (see screenshots) but have not synced to the Lightship database and do not appear on Intel Map or in any game.

Accepted Nominations:

  1. “Placa Conmemorativa del Centenario del Hospital Domingo Olavegoya” - Accepted: 2026-01-10
  2. “Placa Conmemorativa del Residentado Médico - Hospital Domingo Olavegoya” - Accepted: 2026-01-10
  3. “Busto de Domingo Olavegoya Yriarte” - Accepted: 2025-12-31
  4. “Busto Conmemorativo del Hospital Domingo Olavegoya” - Accepted: 2025-12-31

What I’ve tried:

  • Waited several days for sync (more than 7 days for the Dec 31 ones)
  • Checked Intel Map at maximum zoom level
  • Refreshed cache and browser

Expected behavior: Accepted wayspots should appear on Intel Map within 48 hours.

Actual behavior: Wayspots are stuck in “Accepted” status without syncing.

Screenshots attached:

  1. My “Accepted” tab in Wayfarer
  2. Intel Map view of the locations (showing no portals)

Please investigate this synchronization issue. These are valid wayspots that passed community review but are not reaching the games.

Thank you for your help.

Welcome @JonixitoRyan

Have you checked through Pokemon Go area map when in this area? There may be other wayspots that are in the same region (cell).

The Intel map no longer syncs to accepted wayspots nominated through Pokemon Go. So there is no guarantee that what your are reviewing is up to date.

Adding that to nominate items to be Portals you need to nominate through Ingress.

Here are the two pertinent announcements about Ingress being separate from Wayfarer

Wayfarer submissions no longer show up in Ingress. Ingress submissions now go through Recon: Niantic Spatial Recon

Thanks for your reply. I understand the S2 cell issue, but that’s not my current problem.

My specific problem: My four nominations were ACCEPTED by the community (they’re in my “Accepted” tab in Wayfarer), but they don’t appear at all on the Intel Map, not even as Portals. According to Niantic’s official documentation, all accepted Wayspots should appear on the Intel Map within 48 hours, regardless of which game they were nominated from.

This makes me think there’s a synchronization error between Wayfarer and the Lightship database, not just an S2 cell issue for Pokémon GO.

Could a Niantic moderator please check if there’s a synchronization problem with these accepted nominations?

Details of my nominations (already accepted):

  • “Centennial Commemorative Plaque…” - Accepted: 10/01/2026
  • “Residency Commemorative Plaque…” - Accepted: 10/01/2026
  • “Bust of Domingo Olavegoya…” - Accepted: 31/12/2025
  • “Hospital Commemorative Bust…” - Accepted: 31/12/2025

None of these appear on Intel Map, and the ones from 12/31 have been accepted for more than 15 days.

@NianticOtoStar Could you please review this synchronization issue?

Give us the coordinates and we can show you on the map of Wayspots. Ingress does not show new Wayspots. You will have to submit them through Ingress to see them as portals.

We did not mention an S2 cell error. Wayfarer and Ingress are no longer connected. New Wayspots do not appear on the Intel map since May 2025.

Never mind, I have found them. Your WAYSPOTS are all live:

They will not sync to Ingress, as Ingress is no longer connected with Wayfarer. There is no sync issue.

Just as a heads up, none of those Niantic staff members are on the forum. They’re all names from the old forum. I assume the reason you’re getting confused about everything is that you’ve not visited the forum in a few years and you didn’t realise that this is actually a new forum with some different staff. That may also explain why you didn’t know that Lightship and Ingress are no longer part of the same company as wayfarer and Pokémon Go.

Hello,

I am moving this to the general area as there is no problem here.

The only way to make new submissions that will appear as portals on the intel map is to submit via Operation Portal Recon.

If you are submitting in wayfarer to appear in Pokémon Go that is fine, but the Intel map with IITC is no longer a way of checking.

Honestly, it’s been many years since I’ve been on here. Anyway, thanks a lot to everyone for the info.
