There is a POI that is a tennis court, but that tennis court is a sports area for rangers who protect the forest. I think this is an emergency area, because rangers are always on duty to protect the forest, and you can’t play games around here.
Should I report it?
It sounds as though this a a leisure facility for the rangers and therefore away from any immediate emergency activity.
So that sounds like a perfectly eligible wayspot.
but that tennis court is not for everyone, not a public area, it’s inaccessible to everyone. and it’s right at the ranger’s entrance, close the gate
This greatly affects the ranger’s mission if there are people playing games in that area
Report it and see what happens if it’s that upsetting.
Lots of luck
Waypoints need to have pedestrian access, and not be on single family private residential property.
There is no issue with facilities labelled “private property”, because employees can access it.
This waypoint sounds eligible to me - in a recreational area of a facility where people work
You also said “its an emergency area and people can’t play games around it”, yet tennis is a game! So clearly that particular space is set aside for games.
Wayspots do not need to be accessible to all. The fact that this is available to the Rangers and other individuals allowed to be there is fine.
They are clearly allowed to play tennis so it is reasonable to assume that this spot is not considered to be totally restricted in terms of actions.
The games have repeated warnings to respect local legislation, and not to go to places they are not allowed. The responsibility is on the individual to adhere to that.
Thanks everyone, I got it.
Actually, I didn’t want to lose a Pokestop, and to make sure it was valid, I went to the forum to ask, now I have the answer
Glad we could help
And if the wayspots being present in Niantic games generate distubance to the operations, the owners or managers have avenues to ask for their removal or limit their hours.
