That's a Wrap! - The Global Wayfarer Review Challenge is ending ahead of schedule

Waiting to see the change in rewards for this event.

Having the event cut short, niantic need to own up and provide their Wayfarer community with compensation.

This looks really bad to start off a transition with new owners.

I understand and empathise with the frustration around the challenge, its ending etc.
However the Wayfarer Team has this space where people can express their reactions and it is good that many forthright comments have been made. It is important. And those messages are being read.
I can also see why someone could arrive at the misconceptions that are being expressed.
But it is not appropriate to go down the road of using terms like lying, or presenting conclusions from limited observations as widespread facts.

Spamming a similar message repeatedly is not helpful. And posting misinformation as fact is also very unhelpful.
A good check before posting is asking the questions
Is it truthful, is it necessary, is it kind.
Please reflect on your posts within this framework.

There is many messages in this thread informing you of the horrible outcome of this event.

Poor organisation and poor decisions were made.

You have destroyed* any integrity from Niantic moving forward by not considering the impacts of the event being closed early and many other factors.

Why was there instantly reviews available after you closed the event? We were lied to, cleaned up your back log and then shut out.

Shame* Niantic, embarrassing moment indeed.

The rewards being passed on needs to reflect the decisions made.

Sad part is we have an open forum to ensure feedback is provided and many are either laughing at those comments or ignoring them.

If the team were able to google the event outside this forum they would see how many other comments are being made about it.

Public perception is huge and having such a loyal player base is key.

Slowly but surely they will push away those that play with the current attitude.

The only input or power we have is to make sure they know how disappointed their community is.

Hopefully it will be fixed.

There are many posts in this topic and 27 are from you. You have 139 cheers, so you are not being ignored. Saying the same thing over and over again does not add to the conversation. I think that they get that you are upset.

What irks me is that a lot of the users that are getting defensive and are trying to wave away the mistakes that were made handling this event got in early, avoided the lag and queues, avoided the rugpull, met their personal goals and maybe got in hundreds of extra reviews as well. Of course it will be hard to empathize from such a position. Now, I would respect it if the dismissals of the complaints were coming from an equal place, eg the complainers and moaners worked less and failed to meet the goals, but a lot of people, myself included, were locked out of contributing for large part of the event, not to mention it being cut short!

Hi! I’ve met the requierement for the global reward, and I’m worried I don’t get rewarded. How can I make sure if the reward is coming through? I don’t know where or how should I receive the reward code.

The rewards are issued by email.

I had the wrong email specified in my profile. Can I get the reward code email sent again?

I have not seen any reports of anyone receiving their rewards yet. Usually they will announce when the rewards have all gone out, and you will be able to post on that topic if you don’t get yours.

If memory serves me correctly, they were due to start rolling out yesterday and end on the 30th. I don’t know if anyone has received the rewards or not as of yet.

There will be a topic for raising issues as the team can look into these and hopefully resolve

I had two posts flagged and deleted for criticism on here. I wouldn’t even state they fell into the category of personal attacks - the frustration lies with Niantic’s Wayfarer system. I still saw a lot of reviews in Taiwan up to 5 pm PDT and after.

There’s also several users with more posts in here that have been critical about the results.

People are welcome to express their views, experience, concerns and frustrations.
However please stay within the general guidelines for the forum and keep your posts focussed on wayfarer issues, factual and respectful to other people.
If you have conveyed your own point of view please do not repeatedly cover the same points in multiple posts. ( spamming)

They’re really not an active forum user. I wouldn’t anticipate any further responses. I think this is a major pain point with Wayfarer.

The question which I initially asked as to whether or not the data shows that the slight decrease in thresholds was fair according to their data went unanswered.

Judging by forum posts on here it seems that the meager decrease did not help quite a few people, but it’s difficult to tell for certain whether or not this is a situation where people are coming on to complain are representative of a large number of others or not.

The Ambassador you’re responding to is one of the few forum users who has a demonstrated track record of always doing right on behalf of the community, demonstrating empathy, caring, and kindness while ensuring that people’s voices are heard.

While I feel like the point you’re making is an important one to make, I would sternly advise you that if this Wayfarer Ambassador is giving you advice on how to approach this topic you should please take heed. Thank you!
