It’s a disaster, I only have 306 and for days it has been loading on the logo, and it doesn’t go any further, maybe I won’t participate in other events.
Maybe a decent chunk of the issue with finding enough submissions to review is you need more people having the proper tools to nominate effectively.
Another reason why PoGo should have accompanying software like Ingress’ IITC to keep track of cells with. I also imagine more in-game rewards for nominating would also give you a boost.
Despite some early niggles, I really enjoyed this challenge. Big shoutout to the Ambassadors who gave their time and effort to work with the community and tried to keep the balance as best the could. I hope Niantic can give them some extra perks as a thanks.
This also made it stupidly hard to upgrade your own nominations too. Even if you weren’t doing the event, you need reviews to do to upgrade your own nominations.
I write both a positive and negative review. for once all the countries involved and many reviews, many proposals but also many edits.
on the negative side, there were times when nothing came out, but there were Ambassadors who helped by giving help on the positions to put. it’s true the holidays didn’t help, but personally I reached 500 in 1/2 days, doing everything by phone.
Reducing the requirement from 50 to 40 doesn’t help at all when we are struggling to send even a single review. Everyone who participated should get the basic rewards, or at least something like 10 reviews. It’s not fair.
This was very poorly handled
The majority of people were only doing this for the Super Rocket Radar, since getting another Shadow Palkia (or other rare sought after Shadow Legendary) is extremely sought after and gives the people who were lucky enough to break through and get to 500 reviews an unfair advantage in Pokemon Go.
At this point, a Super Rocket Radar should be given to everybody. It’s very unfair that only a select few are going to get it despite me and many other trying to get to 500. Or you know, just don’t offer it at all…
Well, if it’s true that after today? Tomorrow? the system will be dethatched from ingress and portals won’t appear in ingress anymore then no need to worry about me going slightly over the required. I only play ingress and did it for ingress only
Oh that’s a great question. I’ll work on making a wrap up post and see what i can include regarding most-diminished
and yet this was advertised in less than a day’s notice
What the heck?
Why change the deadline in such a short notice?
At worse I’d expect the deadline to be extended due to the lack of reviews in the queue, not shortened.
I was trying so hard to do the remaining ones but in 10 hours I only got to do 30 or so.
Missing 30 for the 400
What? Portals will no longer be added to ingress, was this the last action? I noticed that the ability to suggest new portals is disabled in the ingress scanner, but I thought it was a temporary measure for the duration of the contest. It is not temporary, but permanent?
As someone who was able to reach tier 3 early on in this challenge, I would advocate for any Ingress players who reached the lower tiers (or even participated at all) to be awarded the OPR Live badge tick. The lowered tier amounts will not be meaningful to a lot of players who may be stuck at 175 or 350 for example.
The Scopely acquisition isn’t going to finalize until later this year.
The OPR Live badge tick should be at 250 reviews or less. It’s awful that people spent SO much time on it, and won’t get the goal they were doing it for.
I was under the impression that after this challenge you can’t get anything to ingress until they make ingress specific review platform?
Edit: aka last chance to submit etc
@NianticTintino - It appears my home location was showing as locked because my session dropped. After logging back in, I was able to update it successfully.
That doesn’t resolve the poor handling here though. Ending the challenge with essentially no notice is like slapping the community in the face after they spend a great deal of time and effort to help you accomplish something. I would beg to differ with the statement that those who engaged early had an advantage. I experienced the delays and errors starting a few hours after the challenge began, which really never improved for any significant amount of time regardless of changing locations.
If you truly care about the community and their goodwill, you will find a way to fairly compensate the community. I’d say what you’ve announced so far falls flat and very short of the mark, as the frustration I personally encountered due to the number of times I experienced loading delay and errors during the challenge makes me feel like walking away permanently.
One easy suggestion that comes to mind as a way to show your goodwill to the community for our efforts, award all level of rewards to every participant that spent at least X hours (I personally feel if someone spent at least 2 hours attempting to participate it should be fully rewarded considering how awful the experience was) logged into Wayfarer during the challenge window. This would help ensure those of us who tried, but were thwarted by no fault of our own to reach the goals, do not walk away feeling as if there is no true care about our efforts on your end. This seems like a fair and simple solution to what was essentially beyond the control of participants to manage.
Ingress removed everything because they are doing Niantic Spatial. Niantic Wayfarer will still exist for a bit.
All unresolved contributions will continue to be reviewed in Wayfarer.
Yea I got the idea that before they turned off submissions it was the last chance to submit stuff, this event to clear the backlog and last chance of stuff to appear in ingress as well and after that wayfarer will not put portals in ingress after this clearout challenge and a new system will be made only for ingress. Correct me if I’m wrong
