Hello and welcome,

Click on the Showcase link on the Wayfarer website, and it’ll show you not only how many reviews you have done, but also how many the community has done in total.

Can someone explain this shift in items to Ingress players so we can understand why you’re all feeling this way?

Is it like swapping a Fracker out for a Battle Beacon?

Yesterday you told us Tier 3 gives Lucky trinket. I managed to get there. Now you suddenly change rewards. I did thé job. But I get paid not for what i went. If i knew this is thé reward I wouldnt even started.

If you do this in real life you were bought to court. It’s cheatig and it’s not right at all.

Hey ! The lucky Trinket is an item very rare locked behind a battle pass ingame (i think it’s 10 €), it guarantees to become lucky friend with one person (instead of waiting the 2% chance you can get once per day). Being lucky friend is useful since you can trade rare pokemons and get a better iv floor with that trade. The problem is that they swapped the item with a regular one that you can get easily ingame and which has a poor value, thats why the players are angry. Hope it can help you to understand !

There have been 2 lucky trinkets in game so far (I think) but it is a new item, so maybe 4-6 per year will be available. It’s a paid item with other rewards also. Imagine in Ingress only 4-6 paid for medals through the store per year and swap out the kinetics for the same number of any really rare items you desire plus halve the CMU to buy the medal.
In both games you can get the same desired effect for free i.e. lucky friends in PoGo, other medals in Ingress by playing the game for a long time but this would have been a guarenteed reward for investment of less time (reviewing) and for free.

Thanks for letting us know. My appetite for doing 500 reviews have diminished somewhat. I appreciate there are issues beyond ones control, especially on a new Pogo feature.

3 lucky trinkets. 2 were global and 1 was from location specific event.

You’re kidding, right? You do realize that a super radar rocket is totally lame compared to the lucky trinket? Many people are disappointed. I was happy to get that trinket. Now I’m just so disappointed I don’t want to do this challenge.

Tbh these are trash Item.
Give the PoGo players a medal or sth what we can need. But Rocket Radar is a joke.

You will be getting a lot of stuff for free and on top of that resolutions even when you do not review. And no one is forcing anyone to participate. A bit of positivity would generally bring you further

yeah i understand, but if someone review 500 stops, the reward should be a bit higher than the actual ones

The attitude here is shocking to me. Would it have been cool to get a lucky trinket? Maybe. But in reality, i think everyone should go take a look at how many lucky friends you’ve got that you haven’t traded with.

I’ve got 135. Was 1 more going to make a huge difference to me? Not at all.

What makes an actual difference in my ability to play PGO, is more Pokestops and Gyms. You only get those through Wayfarer. The action of reviewing reaps its own rewards. Any game rewards above that are lagniappe.

I’m sorry but your experiences are not universal. A lot of PoGo players are justifiably upset by the change. How many lucky friends do I have atm? 3. All of them random people from other countries from remote raids. How many lucky pokemon do I have altogether? 4. How long have I been playing? Created my account in 2016 and have been playing actively daily since 2020. Lucky trinkets have not been in the game for a long time and are naturally the most desired item currently, as they have - so far - been locked behind a paywall. It is natural for people to be upset as this challenge has been advertisted with the elusive lucky trinket.

Personally, my motivation for using Wayfarer has always been to make my local community a better place for players so while I’m upset by the change, it doesn’t affect my core motivation. But I totally understand why other PoGo reviewers are upset and unmotivated by the challenge. I do not think the right course of action is to sweep this under the rug - a better course of action would be to just deliver the promised rewards at a later date, once an appropriate delivery method is found. There are a lot of folks who dusted off their accounts for reviewing solely for this challenge. So while it does not change the motivation for us who review regularly or occasionally anyways, it should be noted that many were going to participate in the challenge solely for the in-game reward.

Buuuuutttttt… Lucky Trinket!! Stomps off in a huff

That’s really disappointing. Would have actually took part in this but don’t feel it’s worth it for a super rocket radar. When the Lucky Trinket becomes a reward I’ll take part.

If you do 50 reviews, and the global community meets the Tier 3 target, you are in for some decent rewards.

Heya Niantic staff and Ambassadors, we’re getting the Floating Balloon of Death in the queue, can someone give it a kick along?

Try changing your home and bonus to somewhere that might have a lot of reviews stacked up (see tehstone’s post for locations). Give it about 10 minutes to register that change. Let us know if that helps.

As we dig out the backlog in a place, we get these balloons.

Like for many others, the challange is now over for me. Did 100 yesterday and planned to do 500. But not for a radar
