The Global Wayfarer Review Challenge has begun!

I was preparing to work by butt off to review 500 entries, but not for a super egg incubator and a super rocket radar. I will only review the minimum limit of 50 entries now, since I have better things to do.
Niantic, if you want to clear off backlogs and make players to review 500 entries or more, you need to improve those individual rewards. If you do not want to give a lucky trinket, maybe give some coins, a master ball or even a better chance to get the Galar birds (speaking for myself here hahaha).

Sorry, but a Super Radar Rocket is not worth the time spent to review 500 entries. You’ve could’ve switched it to an amount of coins or other special items.

As a loyal waypoint reviewer (2500 reviews logged) I was losing interest in reviewing submissions. I was mostly doing it to get upgrades to get my own submissions into the game. Without upgrades it sometimes takes mine 6 months to get reviewed.
Seeing the challenge pop up got me excited. Deffo when I saw the lucky trinket!
My submissions were all of a sudden getting done within days/weeks of uploading!
I loved it.

Now I see this edit and my excitement is far gone.
I, like many others lost interest again.
I agree to all the comments saying we should atleast get a code to redeem the lucky trinket later. As we all went full gas for it. Keep the update going. Test it, even a 100 times before submitting it into the game. But don’t get us all excited and then scrap it.
Kind regards,
Herenthout

Well, it only took about a half day before the Infinite Skip feature from the previous Challenge was finally disabled. At least I reached my 100 reviews (just barely) for Ingress : Tier 1. Totally not worth my time to wait 20 minutes for a every junk Nomination to expire. Time to go back and play the game now instead.

4 posts were merged into an existing topic: Got 24 hours cooldown after first review

Not for free-to-play players such as myself. This will really help me progress to Level 50 and help me fill my dex.

I don’t think this response is very helpful. People were promised an item of great value only for it to be replaced with an item of little value. Disappointment and complaining are natural, human responses.

The people complaining the loudest are almost all first time posters. A lucky trinket could’ve brought more players into the Wayfarer community, but the bait and switch has probably put them off instead. I find that more disappointing than the loss of a lucky trinket. I still plan on doing reviews, as now seems like a good time to quickly bank some upgrades.

For the record, I have 0 lucky friends, so a lucky trinket would have meant a lot to me. You are rich in luck princess; I am but a pauper.

Oof, this thread is brutal. I’m still gonna do my part though, 90 reviews in and counting.

I don’t get why you all think Super Rocket Radar is worse than the Lucky Trinket in a season with no major events. It looks like a better deal to me

I think Niantic should give us both a Lucky Trinket and a Super Rocket Radar. Let us have something nice as a parting gift, y’know. Just saying.

What “parting gift”?

Scopley bought the games and the teams with them. The Niantic name is still on all the games.

Nothing would change immediately anyways when Scopely’s name is on it either? It’s the same thing just in a new tin.

Yes, but see, I believe in using every available opportunity to ask for free stuff because why not? I don’t even use lucky whatevers and I still want one if it’s free.

Then the way you phrased it was peculiar.

We are getting plenty of free items as part of this Challenge anyways.

At least in my opinion, super rocket radar is worse because you get it anyways every few months and almost always it will be a bad pokemon with bad Iv that will come to shadow raids anyways in a while.
In comparison to Lucky trinket which let’s you choose anyone you would want to become lucky friends with them, which means that you can plan any trade you want for any pokemon you need and you will most likely find someone who has it (as long as your community is developed enough).
Also, from my own experience it can be a pain to become lucky friends (with my local community and friends) there are some who I planned to do lucky trades with when we become ones, and there were times when it took over a year of constant interactions just to become lucky friends / they quit before we became (compared to the 3~ months / super rocket radar)

There is also the aspect of the lucky trinket beings an exclusive pay locked item while you can get the super rocket radar quite frequently for free
and it gives you much higer odds to get a shundo, a lot of players don’t have one but want to, in contrast to the super rocket radar which gives you 0% chance and not much better than that for a shadow / purified hundo

Please turn down the AI at least for the next week. We need objects for review and the AI reject sometimes viable Wayspots.

Mate, the super radar is a far better reward. If you live near a community, lucky trades are a dimme a dozen. A rocket radar gives you two shadow legendaries. The worst shadow legendary is still better than its regular perfect counterpart. And I say this as someone who does dozens of lucky trades every month and about 90% are useless. Heck, most of my top legendaries come from raids, not lucky trades. So a lucky trinket to me is worth about 1 euro, while a super radar can be worth far more than that when a particularly interesting legendary is in rotation. I used two for shadow Groudon and would have used ten more if I had them… no lucky trade in the world is worth a decent shadow Groudon.
