The PokéStop in question should be deleted in-game, but it is not

Oh, I see. So, this should be handled through Pokemon Go’s customer service center, not through Waferer? Am I understanding this correctly?

This isn’t an issue I have ever come across so unfortunately cannot provide solid advice. It is the sort of issue that has been addressed in these forums in the past and Niantic have responded here, just not in the way you expected. I suspect that, at best, you will get the same response through Pokemon Go customer service and that there will never be an explanation for why this situation exists.

This problem seems to arise because there’s no definitive answer for Pokémon GO. This is why many people exploit the system by creating dozens of PokéStops and gyms in a few small cells.

Recently, there have been cases like this because the relevant rules were not properly applied, and cases are occurring worldwide, wasting the manpower and time of Pokémon Go staff…

It used to be possible to deliberately get multiple pokestops/gyms in individual L17 cells, but the implementation was changed a while ago (2 years?) to prevent this, by re-applying the cell rules in Pokemon Go whenever a wayspot was added to, moved into or removed from a cell.

This is why the examples posted in this thread are so curious.

This issue still appears to be present in some areas. It’s likely that the rules aren’t being properly enforced, and the issue is likely resurfacing globally.

For anyone that becomes aware of an area where this sort of situation exists you can use this form to report. The team will investigate and take action.

I would also like to point out that deletion requests are not appropriate in this case, as the wayspots are neither duplicates, nor permanently removed in real life. So it’s correct that these were not addressed, as they pertain to removing the wayspot from the database altogether.

For density rules to be re-enforced can take some time, in my experience.

Ok, now I get it.
After you’ve commited that one of the moves has just happend today you should wait some more time.
The rejection for the removal requests was correct because both POIs are existing in real life.

@lama1211 I think you may want to file a bug report in Bug Reports & Technical Support to see if you can get the cells reset, since none of these are duplicates. Because none of these are duplicates, this is most likely why your appeal was denied, but there does appear to be something up with the cells.

Should I report a bug in the game?

As I mentioned, you can file a bug report here in Bug Reports & Technical Support.

But please do wait at least 48h

Thank you for your reply.

Okay. I will re-register the post as a bug report item regarding the Pokémon Go Cell bug after 2 or 3 days.
