The wayspot is approved but still not on the in-game map

The wayspot is approved but still not on the map in the game and it’s been more than 48 hours. How long do I have to wait before it appears? Is there any way to contact support, why hasn’t the stop appeared yet?

Hello and welcome to the forums,

There’s a chance that your nomination is in the same L17 S2 cell as an already existing Pokéstop or Gym, which would make it ineligible to appear on the Pokémon GO map.

If you feel comfortable sharing the coordinates of the nomination, I can have a look to see if it’s in the same cell as something or not.

You can read all about how S2 cells and Wayspots interact with Pokémon GO and their gameboard in this article:
https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/

If it is due to the S2 Cells…

Your nomination may…

  • become a Powerspot (Dynamax / Gigantamax) depending on its proximity to other waypoints.
  • replace the existing waypoint if that is removed for legitimate reasons. ***
  • be used in other Scopely games.

***Do Not attempt to get a legitimate wayspot removed just to get yours on to the map. This is seen as Abuse and can lead to suspension / bans of all accounts (Wayfarer, Pokemon Go and any other Scopely games).

I don’t know where to find the coordinates, will this suffice?

Unfortunately, I think the real problem will be that the locations are close to each other.

Unfortunately there are occupied cells.

In each of those green boxes ( called level 17 cells)Pokémon Go will only select 1 wayspot to be a in the game.
There are 3 cells here each has more than one wayspot- 7 wayspots across 3 cells so 4 won’t show.
That will be disappointing, but at least you are now more aware of how it works..

Thank you very much for the clarification. May I ask where I can see the image of the squares for future nominations?

This post contains a way to see the cells

As it’s not a large place here is a screenshot that covers this area.

The red lines mark the level 14 cells. These are key to gym creation.

If you have queries about the suitability of a submission please do ask. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I have one more question, given the size of the squares, how is it possible that in larger cities, for example, there are more spots in the squares?

and one more request, would you be able to make me a screen of the entire area where I sent the spots? a little further down is the dam and its surroundings? I tried the link via disccord but somehow I don’t know how to do it

Thank you very much

There is no restriction to how many wayspots can exist in a single cell, but only one of these can be visible as a pokestop/gym in Pokemon Go.

The exceptions to this rule are with sponsored pokestops/gyms, some areas where Niantic are running tests, old areas where multiple active pokestops/gyms were created in the same cell and Niantic haven’t reset the cell.
