Unable to Adjust Location of Wayspot

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: US Flag Mural
  • Location (lat/lon): 35.980879, -86.560242
  • City: Smyrna, Tennessee
  • Country: United States
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information): n/a
  • Additional Information (if any): I did originally not submit this Wayspot, nor did it come across my reviewer board despite being local to this area. The Wayspot in question was submitted and accepted at the wrong coordinates. The correct location is just across the street from where the Wayspot is currently placed. I noticed this discrepency through the map feature. I drive near this area frequently, so I knew without a doubt it was incorrect on the Niantic map. Naturally, I submitted a request to move the Wayspot, but both attempts have been wrongfully denied, even with photographic evidence that proves that it is incorrectly placed and needs to be moved to where I have suggested. I have attached screenshots of the chats, as well as my supplemental evidence. I am genuinely confused as to why my appeals for relocation have been denied. Can anyone help me?

I have something that might help you out.

Street view from January 2026 that shows the mural in the location you’re attempting to move it to:

You do need to zoom in, but the very left side of it is visible. Sometimes looking for Street View images from farther away can help

Thank you! I would’ve assumed that whoever I’ve been chatting with in the help window would’ve reviewed StreetView, but I guess not. Honestly, the responses don’t even appear to come from a real person. I’m just hoping an admin sees this post and your additional map info and can get the Wayspot moved. Appreciate you!

To be fair on them, this Street View image is far away from the object, and the Street View imagery on the same road but in the opposite direction is… well, see for yourself.

All the other closer imagery is from several years ago, which isn’t useful when the building didn’t exist then.

The image I found took me well over 10 minutes, and initially the view that I found actually seemed to contradict your evidence, but eventually I found that it was visible and I shared it.

I saw the view from that side of the street a while ago and all I can say is yikes, I’m surprised Google published that with such low visibility. Yeah, kind of annoying that they haven’t gone back down that other street to get the updated view yet, but it is a tiny side street so I get that it may have been easily overlooked.

Well you could take a little screenshot and circle it. It will definitely help .

In addition maybe you can use this apps . It will show the coordinate in the foto.

I did take a screenshot of the StreetView and send it to them. Their last response before closing the chat last night reads: “Hello Explorer, Thank you for taking the time to write to us. We appreciate your patience as we reviewed the location in question. We have made adjustments to the referenced Wayspot “US Flag Mural”. You should see these changes reflected soon.”

The changes haven’t appeared on the map yet, but I will keep an eye on it for a few days. Thank you for sharing that app, I will keep that in mind for future use.

The Pokemon Go and Wayfarer maps are not “live”. They get a mass update, usually once per day. Status updates (location changes, pokestop to gym upgrades, etc) can take up to three update cycles to manifest properly.
