Unknown Error Prevents Route Submission Every Time

Each time I attempt to submit a Route, I receive the error message “Unknown error in the Route submission process. Please try again later.” The error occurs consistently and prevents the Route from being submitted at all. The Route is fully completed with a valid start point, end point, description, and tags, but submission fails every time.

This issue has occurred every time I have attempted to create a Route, including the most recent attempt on February 11, 2026.

Device Information
• Device: iPhone
• Operating System: iOS (latest version installed)
• Network: Occurs on both Wi-Fi and cellular data

Game & Version
• Game: Pokémon GO
• Version: Latest available version at time of reporting

Additional Notes
• The issue persists across multiple attempts and different Route start/end points
• App restarts, cache clearing, and retries at different times did not resolve the issue
• Screenshots attached showing the error message during submission

Unfortunately Routes are not managed by Wayfarer. It is something you’ll need to take up with Pokemon Go support.

I can’t tell from your screenshot, but are you just barely at the minimum distance? I have been able to get rid of that error by traveling just a little bit farther.

Here is the note I made about it:

I tried to submit a new route today, ending at the first possible step where it would allow me to. I wrote it up there, and got an “unknown” error when I tried to submit. When I couldn’t find a way to back up that wouldn’t lose the route, I restarted the game. It put me back in the recording process. I chose a new endpoint, walked a few more steps, and it let me submit that time. It still had all the text and choices I had made. I guess it was a rounding error.
