If you’re declining submissions because of watermarked photos, please ensure consistency and decline all of my submissions with the same watermark. The mark you’re seeing isn’t a copyright or photographer’s watermark — it’s an automatic watermark from my phone’s camera. There’s no copyright issue involved. In fact, several of my nominations with the same watermark have already been accepted. Reviewers should be able to recognize the difference between an actual copyright watermark and a simple phone brand mark.

That has to be very frustrating. Have you figured out how to turn the feature off yet?
Sometimes those watermarks will hit on a background that may keep people from noticing them in voting. That might be how the accepted ones slipped through.
Now that you know this is happening, you can withdraw any that have not entered voting. Or tag staff here and ask for them to reject any in voting.
Still makes it ineligible in my opinion, and “watermark” is the closest thing. Turn it off if you want a better chance of being acccepted.

Hello, the nominations which were accepted should be edited with photos without the watermarks, or straight removed from the game. As for watermarks there is a really simple way - just go to camera, settings and you should see a camera watermark, check that off! Hope it helps.

I know how to turn it off; I just didn’t realize it was such a big deal since my other nominations were approved. Lesson learned moving forward.

As suggested, you can add photos to your previously approved nominations and then use the Help Chat to request removal of the other photos. Otherwise, somebody might report those and you could start getting strikes to your account.
Nominations are reviewed and approved by people. Some things do get overlooked and watermarks especially can be difficult to see, sometimes.
I’m really sorry about your learning curve but I’m glad to hear that you have been having success with nominations!

Normally your approved nomination should be rejected
Anyway. Thats how wayfarer works. Its being reviewed by other reviewer. Whoever review your previous nomination and current nomination may not be the same. So other might miss the watermark while other notice it.

How can I add photos? I’m new here
When you are within range to interact with a PokéStop or Gym, there will be a (>) icon you can click on to bring up the full picture and text on the POI. Once clicked, you’ll also have a (⋮) icon you can click. From there, you’ll have the option to “add photo” to the Wayfarer database.
I’m sure somebody else can upload some screenshots if necessary.

Go into your Wayfarer page Niantic Wayfarer and go to the “Help” tab. Scroll a little and a “message” icon will appear at the bottom.
You may have to use a prompt that says “report abuse-” don’t be afraid of this. Simply state when prompted that you’re just requesting to have your own image removed. You’ll have to do this after having already submitted a new photo.

oh, i should have mentioned that the way i like to submit nominations is to take the photos before i begin. that way i can look through the photos first. if i got something in the photo that shouldn’t be there - a watermark, a face, my finger, a license plate, etc, - i can crop that out of the photo. or use a different one. then when i submit the nomination i use the “existing photo” option. the thumbnail doesn’t show you the whole photo that reviewers will see.
