Am I reading this correctly it’s only been 3 or 4 days and a variety of wayspots not just the one being resubmitted?
They might have several different nominations in progress, and they might not have had a decision yet.
If that is the case they may not be aware of an issue.
Hopefully they will start to get rejections soon, and that fellow reviewers have also chosen the presence of a watermark to vote towards rejecting. This should then send an appropriate message.
Having said all that I think the way feedback is triggered and how it is worded could be improved.
It can feel very frustrating as a reviewer to see a repeated issue with submissions as we review. We then think they are not responding to the rejection message …… However in reality there is no way of knowing the timing of everything.
They will probably feel frustrated after having waited, their reasonable nomination gets rejected. Hopefully they will understand or ask questions and be in a position to resubmit.
Seems like another situation that could be dealt with by AI. It should be able to detect that the text is perfectly straight / uniform which you wouldn’t get when imaging text on a sign.
It could then stop the nomination and explain why.
I am aware that it does meet Rejection criteria but I don’t see it as “identifying” the submitter, if the photo states that it is taken with an iPhone that only identifies as about 50% of submissions. Maybe AI could blur it out?
It’s one of those that on a few I have reviewed and it’s a brilliant nomination and I feel bad that I have to reject because of this…
Gracias
Just to let you know, we can’t post the direct link to Wayfarer Tools here in the forums, but you should be able to find them via a web search. There are several tools available that can be added to your web browser, not just the map overlay.
A direct link to this was not allowed, but a screenshot pointing to it was.
Note: I edited this post after @NianticAtlas reached out via DM to explain that I had misunderstood previously, and said I could share the explanation. The issue is not about sharing links to “well-known, widely used, and standard platforms for sharing and collaborating on software development. The concern lies specifically with linking directly to or promoting third-party plugins or scripts.” Naming or screenshotting the tool has been allowed so far to avoid possible harm from someone searching and installing the wrong thing.
One can post wayfarer.tools here, but it won’t become a hyperlink and take you directly to the site, as that is the web address. So, one must either copy and paste wayfarer.tools into their address bar, or do a search for it.
