How did you sign into wayfarer to see the onboarding? That is how you should sign into Pokemon Go. I am going to tag @NvlblNm to try to help you.

At the moment, you must:

  • have either Google or Facebook linked as a sign-in method
  • sign in to both the game and wayfarer using either Google or Facebook

PTC accounts must have one of these methods linked to use wayfarer.

As it is not currently possible to sign into wayfarer using Apple sign-in, I would recommend using one of the currently supported methods instead.

It isn’t 100% clear which methods you are using or have linked to which account, but sounds like you may have gone through onboarding for your account instead of having your son go through onboarding for his account.

Thank you for all your help. We was able to use my sons poke account. So I’ll just have to use his if I want to add a spot….

If I understand properly at this point…

  • your Gmail is linked to your son’s account
  • you’ve signed in to wayfarer with your Gmail and now your son can nominate
  • you still can’t nominate from your account
  • your account is not linked to any Gmail
  • your account is either not linked to any Facebook or you have not signed in to wayfarer with your linked Facebook

If you’d like to fix your account so that you can nominate, you can either:

  • link a Facebook (if not already linked) and sign in to wayfarer with it to complete onboarding
  • link a different Gmail and sign in to wayfarer with it to complete onboarding

If you’re fine with just having your son nominate for you, then I’m glad you got things figured out! If you’d like to nominate when your son isn’t with you, linking and logging in with a supported method should fix things up!

Very succinct. If I do decide to fix this issue on my account I will try to figure out how to link a different gmail account to my apple but I do not know how that would work…

In game, go to Settings → Account → Linked Accounts

From there, you should be able to click “Not Linked” to link either a Gmail or Facebook.

Not to be the Wayfarer police, but I would strongly suggest not engaging in account sharing to nominate so that it doesn’t backfire on you later on :slight_smile:
The advice you’ve been given above should help you attach a Google account which should take care of your problem. Unfortunately Apple and PTC are not supported by Wayfarer at the time of this writing.

My post touched on this though it wasn’t quite so explicit about it.

In short: don’t sign in as someone else to nominate. Hands on your own scanneraccount only.

If you haven’t linked any new accounts yet, it is now possible to sign into wayfarer with your Apple account. I would be very curious if, after doing so, you are able to:

  • complete onboarding
  • successfully submit a nomination
  • receive an email notifying you that you submitted a nomination

If you’ve already linked another login method, no worries!

I am having the same issue I have completed the onboarding and still can’t submit a new pokestop please help thanks!
