A Wayspot I submitted was approved, but put in the wrong spot. How can I appeal this? It did not show up in game because there is already a spot near it, so there is no way to submit an edit in game. Old process guided you to to go the main Wayfarer website and click a chat/help button, but now after the buyout, not seeing this option to report it.
If the current location is not correct in real life, then you can ask help chat at Niantic Wayfarer to correct it to the actual physical location. They will want evidence and they will not move something just to make it go live in Pokemon Go.
If the location is a correct placement for the point of interest, then attempting to move it may be considered abuse.
fyi, reviewers can move your pin in voting if they see it as misplaced.
This is still the process for moving Wayspots. You have to navigate to the Help tab to have the text bubble pop up.
Thank you for the response. The nomination in question is around a pond. I submitted in one side of the pond, and it does seem like someone did change the location in the nomination to the other side. Both sides are nearly identically, except the side it was moved to sometimes gets flooded if it rains a lot, so the other side is safer. My supplemental photo was of the other side, not the side that gets flooded. Do you think I can still appeal it given this information? I can get a photo of the spot it was moved to with flooded side walk.
I think if there is evidence that the real world location of the Wayspot should where you are asking them to move it, then you can ask without worrying about being accused of abuse.
fyi, they may say no, or possibly even decide the Wayspot should be removed. But it should be okay to ask in this case. I wonder why reviewers would have moved the pin?
Seems strange that they moved it. Possibility: Which side did you take the main image?
It mught be a good idea, when askjng for the move, to take a picture of the flooded side (when its flooded) as they tend to leave things in place if its “correct” (example being i tried to move a play park watpoint from the middle tk the entrance, as we are told to submit it there, but was told no)
Can I ask what the wayspot is, what sort of object? Is it small or large?
There is a limited distance that people can move a pin position whilst in review.
Is the object viewable as being in the correct location in the supplementary photo?
It sounds as though it was a similar object hence they moved the pin-(we don’t know how many reviewers it requires to move the pin)
Putting aside concerns about occasional flooding, could the pin position that it is in now reasonably considered as appropriate?
I am concerned that we giving advice without a clear idea about what the object is.
I gave advice that works for every situation. They don’t need to prove it to me, just Wayfarer staff.
