Wayspot Gym Removal Appeal

When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: Little Free Library #5350
  • Location (lat/lon): 35.41045° N, 118.97344° W
  • City: Bakersfield, California
  • Country: USA
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any): This popular gym location in the community was removed today July 28, 2025. I would like to appeal to reinstate the gym as it was important to the community for raid hours and raids in general on a daily basis. The gym was located on the edge of a public college campus and next to a transit center for buses transporting students to and from the college.

Could you provide more evidence as to why this should be reinstated? This will make your appeal stronger and have a better chamce of restoring the wayspot.

  • A geotagged photo of the spot in the modern day helps
  • explain why it still meets criteria to this day

Do note that the college or the other centers might have requested this spot to be removed.

There are multiple gyms and pokestops all around and within the college campus. Only this gym was removed and it is the most easily accessible gym by far as it is located along the edge of the campus as opposed to within the campus. The community could access the gym without even stepping foot on campus.

Also, the wayspot is a little free library, meaning everyone and anyone was invited to visit and pick up or leave a book.

Staff will confirm if it was by someone removed in a report or a owner of some center requested removal.

In the mean time, could you provide more evidence to make your case stronger with the suggestions I gave you?

It still meets the criteria to this day because people gather to discuss available books and suggestions to be added to the little free library. Since the location is easily accessible for reasons mentioned above, it is visited frequently and on a daily basis providing a great place for people to socialize and gather especially with being located on a college campus and near a public transit center.

@AMG7070 made good suggestions to help your appeal. There will have been a reason this has disappeared. There may have been a request from a property owner to remove the game location, in which case, nothing can be done. There may have been a report that it no longer exists, so a current geotagged photo would prove it is actually still there. It may have been location edited so that it no longer appears in Pokemon Go, so a current geotagged photo could prove the old location was the correct one. If the new location is actually the correct one, nothing can be done.

Have you checked in the nomination map screen with the toggle on while you are on site to see if the Wayspot is still there as an exclamation point? That does not work remotely, so you must be right at the location to see the Wayspots, like this:

Since Ingress no longer updates with Wayfarer actions, I can see the LFL there. It is very hard for me to reconcile this photo with the place on the map where it is pinned.

The plaque says it was established in 2013, so I ought to be able to see it on Street View from 2022 if it is there. But my eyes are not great.

I did some research into the photo’s and they, as far as I can see are identical.

Do remember that the photo has to be made by the submitter itself, otherwise it is a third party photo which could lead to consequences on the abuse ladder system and copyright strikes, which is why the submitter must make their own photo.

If the photo is indeed the same one, which I believe, that @cyndiepooh found on Facebook then that is probably the reason it got removed.

The Little Free Library website does have this listed on their map. The coordinates should actually be around 35.407967,-118.971699 according to where it’s pinned on their official map. I wonder if someone submitted a location edit and it caused it to disappear from the game? Though if the photo is stolen from Facebook as it seems to be, it is possible it was removed instead.

Location correction edit was my first thought. I wish we could still check with maps. I hope the OP checks with the nomination toggle.

How do I get to the nomination screen? Sorry, I am not understanding your suggestion

You can see if the wayspot still there or no from here

If its there, u nd to check if its on empty cells or no. If its on empty cells, its probably reported by property owner. If its not empty cells, then it probably got edited

you go to the location, then begin a nomination. you only need to go as far as the map screen where you place the pin. with the toggle in the bottom left corner, you can see all the wayspots. if they are not used in Pokemon Go, they will be represented with exclamation points. tap all the ! and see if one is the LFL.

The Wayspot was removed because it doesn’t exist at this location.

Lol😅

That is not what we had expected😅

I am back on campus today and can provide pictures of the free little library. I do not know how to geotag pictures however. Is there something else I have to do besides simply taking the pictures? I am using an iphone for reference.

Easiest way is to install an App called “GPSCameraApp”, I have used it on Android but I am pretty sure that it is also available for iPhone.

This adds the GPS and location data as part of the photo. Stops data from being lost as part of the upload procedure.
