I would like to appeal the automatic rejection of my PokéStop nomination titled “Surau at Petronas Sungai Pelek,” which I submitted on May 22, 2025. The nomination was rejected without being reviewed by human reviewers.
This surau (prayer room) is located at the Petronas station in Sungai Pelek, Selangor, Malaysia. It is a publicly accessible religious facility where both travelers and local residents perform prayers and take short breaks. It is more than just part of a petrol station — it holds cultural and community significance.
The location:
1)Has clear signage (visible in the photo)
2)Is safe and easily accessible
3)Serves people of various backgrounds and reflects Malaysia’s multicultural values
I strongly believe that this location meets the eligibility criteria outlined in the Niantic Wayspot acceptance guidelines, particularly in terms of its cultural significance, community value, and public accessibility. Therefore, I believe this nomination is eligible.
I sincerely request that Niantic conduct a manual review of this nomination instead of relying solely on automated rejection systems.
Wayspot Appeals is for appealing rejected removal reports or requesting reinstatement of removed wayspots. You must appeal nomination rejections through your contributions page. You have 2 appeals, each on a 20 day counter before you can use them again. If you don’t see the appeal button, you just have to wait.
You can try to resubmit while you are waiting to get the appeal back. That is what I usually do. Is there any clearer sign you could focus on instead of the entrance?
I am not familiar with these. Is a prayer room a sensitive area?
(Sorry, English is not my native language, there may be some mistakes)
I’m not sure if there is no appeal button, but my nomination was automatically rejected by Niantic with a message saying it does not meet the Wayfarer criteria. Therefore, I did not see the appeal button on the Contribution page.
(I did not see the appeal button every time after being rejected by Niantic)
If you are able to submit an appeal, you will see a button like this at the top of your contribution. I don’t currently have an appeal available to show you from my own page, but will be something like this
do try to center the point of interest in the middle of the photo, with just enough around it to provide context, but not enough other stuff to confuse the ai. some of these being automatically rejected surprises me.
