When submitting a Wayspot Appeal, make sure to include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Wayspot Title: The Littlemishy Mural
  • Location (lat/lon): 31.89347° S, 115.77515° E
  • City: Scarborough
  • Country: Australia
  • Screenshot of the Rejection Email (do not include your personal information):
  • Additional Information (if any):

This mural is painted on the outside facing brick fence of the private residential property situated at 157A Gildercliffe Street, Scarborough (Coordinates - 31.89328° S, 115.77511° E).

The location of this wayspot has been incorrectly pinned at a nearby cafe, Cafe Pizz by Pizzaca.). This cafe is located directly across the shopping centre car park from this residential property. The cafe address is 161 Gildercliffe Street Scarborough (Coordinates - 31.89347° S, 115.77515° E).

Please arrange for this wayspot to be deleted in view of its correct location before on private residential property.

Updated photos of the wayspot / next door cafe are provided n support.

A new wayspot nomination will be submitted for the mural that exists on the outside wall of the cafe (I.e. no attempt will be made to “repurpose” the existing wayspot that is incorrectly pinned at this location).

Hi
Since this exists but is in the wrong location you would be better to use the help bubble on the wayfarer pages to request the change of location using the photo as evidence.

Whilst the exisiting wayspot is pinned at the wrong location (at the nearby café), it none the less remains a mural that is painted on the outside brick fence line of a private residential property and hence, does not meet the qualifying criteria.

I thought that any attempt to update the wayspot photo to reflect the café mural (as opposed to the existing image of the Littlemishy Mural) would be considered by Niantic to be “repurposing” and would trigger a potential warning against my account

Streetview shows that the mural is on the outside of a property that has letterboxes for 157A and 157B in front of the driveway. As it is not SFPRP, despite looking like it, this may be why it wasn’t removed.

The properties located at 157A & 157B Gildercliffe St, Scarborough are both private residential properties. They are both townhouses that are built on seperate property titles and are NOT part of any apartment type complex. For further clarification, please refer to https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-unit-wa-scarborough-107155966 and https://www.realestate.com.au/property/157a-gildercliffe-st-scarborough-wa-6019/.

Ah got i. What a confusing situation

So I would consider 157 A and B separate as you can see they are separate buildings with separate entrances B is accessed via the road at the back.
So the mural in the orange circle is actually on SFPRP and should be removed - that it is currently wrongly pinned is just confusing this request.
This view is good as you can see both mural and the house situation.
The mural in the green circle can be submitted as it is on a commercial property and has nothing to do with the other one as you can see.

Thanks for the appeal, @HinduLoveGods. After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question.
