In honor of today’s solar eclipse and to welcome us to the new forum, post your favorite wayspot of a celestial body (sun, moon, planet, etc.). It doesn’t have to be one you submitted, it could be one you’ve seen or received a gift from.
The only one I have personally submitted is this sundial, so I guess it’s my “best.” It’s in a meditation garden in a hospital, waaaaaaaay far out from the actual hospital building.
The two I can think of are
This Sundial at Birdland.
Then this one at The Eden Project about our own Planet.
Nice topic by the way.
I found some gifts I’d saved in PGO that qualify. Two versions of Stonehenge (assuming henges have to do with sun alignment).
And i really love this one because it references one of the first sci-fi movies ever made. A couple of soldiers from the American Civil War build a rocket from a huge canon. They travel in what is essentially a giant metal bullet that lands on the moon. The movie is around 20 minutes long.
Hold on, Utah copied us and built their own Stonehenge?
I mean, there are henges/stone circles everywhere. The better question is how tall is it? Is it the size of a Spinal Tap stonehenge or the size of the more famous one, or somewhere in between?
There’s one in Washington too! I’d argue that it’s one of the cooler Stonehenge monuments in the world.
How about an entire planetary nature trail at a meteor crater?
Bonus trail marker, overview of all planets, and the Sun!
