What about government project plaques?

I’m unsure how to review these kinds of submissions. Basically they are plaques placed by the local governments after finishing a building project (a bridge, a wall, a road, etc). Assuming they meet the basic criteria (good picture, safe location, etc), should they be accepted?

if it is the same as a plaque that is placed to mark the opening of something I would treat it the same.

While it is a plaque of some kind the fact that it’s only stating on who carried out the work on a piece of land for me this isn’t unique and could be removed after a short time.

I’m not saying it will seeing as this one is dated as 2020 but it’s not significant enough.

Now there’s a building near me that’s just been refurbished and as part of it refurbishment a plaque was attached with a dedication to a person and that was classed as acceptable.

Let’s see what other insight comes in from others like @cyndiepooh @elijustrying

lol i wasn’t going to comment on this one, but since you tagged me XD…

i agree that this does not appear to be significant, but i would read the entire nomination to see if they gave me a reason this meets criteria as a great place for exploration - i can’t think of any way it could meet criteria as a place of exercise or being social.

there are a LOT of explorers who think any sign qualifies, and anything without a sign does not. we call that “signfarer.”

i don’t know who to tag as familiar with the culture of mexico. i know @MegaTrainerRed speaks spanish if that is needed for the nuance of the nomination. but translating this just reads like “pavement was repaired here,” which is not something i think meets criteria.

Something like this will be down to the individual nomination.

It is somewhere between an advert for the company that did the work and marking an event.

A plaque might locally insignificant and routine or rare. The work done might have been essential because something very specific that happened or a just regular maintenance. It might have been there to mark the end of the work and have pictures taken.

For this sort of plaque to be acceptable I would expect a good story with back up evidence to get this over the line.

You are correct with your last statement. I wouldn’t approve this type of plaques as they don’t meet a y criteria in my personal opinion.
