Waypoint rejected

I am trying to nominate a sign on a building that has been there for over 50 years, but it is getting rejected by the AI. The sign/building is a local known building housing a locksmith that was established in 1973. The sign itself is for the building with the meaning “the key House”, but is not the company logo. It’s also located in a very safe pedestrian area, which was recently renovated specifically for pedestrian and biking activity with wide sidewalks and dedicated biking lanes, making the area great for exploration and exercise. I feel like this would be an ideal waypoint, in a good location. Is there anything anyone recommends I can do to get this through or should I just give it up?

Nøkkelhuset (ENG: The Key House)
Skilt med gammeldags nøkkel på huset siden 1973. (Eng: Sign with an old fashoned key on the house, been there since 1973)

Supplementary info:
An sign with an old fashioned key on the house, that houses a locksmith, that was established in 1973, so its been there for over 50 years, and is a historical known building/landmark for the local community. Please note this is not a company logo, this is a sign/art on/for the building. Its located in the newly renovated Pellygata that has dedicated biking and wide curfews and lots of benches and the local community, This promotes exploration by foot or bike, and is a great place for exercise.

Hi @Dezorex
My personal view on the nomination in question is a no.
It doesn’t fit into the main criterias for socializing or excercising, so we should look through the exploring glasses.
I’m not sure that you could make a case why that building with the key sign as an anchor is worth exploring. Being “only” 50 years old don’t let me hope of a deeper, interesting history.
The new created area sounds more interesting. Did they create social spaces? Gazebos?
Additionally I want to tag @Trollfarer for expertise :hugs:

The sign is on the business premises for “Holmens Eftf Lock and Key Service” so it is safe to assume that it is in fact the logo for that business.

I think that this would be a very difficult nomination to get approved but if you feel that it is worth an appeal, then you should appeal on the basis that your nomination is a place worthy of exploration.

Here are a few thought starters for your appeal….. “One of a kind, unique artistic sign that functions as the logo for a local business (key and lock store) that was established in 1973. This sign adds colour and vibrancy to an otherwise dull and neglected area of our community. It is a unique work of art, distinctive to the business that it represents, and considered to be worthy of further exploration. Safe pedestrian access is evident via a sealed pathway and nomination is readily accessible. Nomination promotes exploration and exercise as you search this area for other nearby murals and public artwork”

I note that there are a few articles on the web that relate to this business. Unfortunately, my Norwegian is non-existent. If any of these articles can demonstrate the importance of this business to the local community, then I would also recommend that you include links in your appeal.

Well i will let community decide whether its unique or no.
You can try but if you got rejection from community, i suggest you move on and try to find other thing.

I don’t think it being there for over 50 years really matters in this instance, but trying to make it look like an artistic sign for the business may be the better way to go about this. Another issue is saying that this is on the side of a house, which could make it seem as though it’s on SFPRP, not a business.

This for sure doesn’t meet being a great place to exercise, as those are place like fitness centers, gyms, athletic courts/fields, hiking trails, for example. I don’t think about doing some jumping jacks or running in place under this sign. A great place to explore doesn’t have to be one where you can get some exercise either, but someplace that is important to the community, like museums, community centers, libraries, historical sites, as well as unique art. This could meet being a great place to explore, but it really doesn’t matter how one gets to it to explore it, just that it’s a unique piece of art worth exploring.

Thanks for the feedback here. The sign here is actually for the building, and not the company logo, I talked to the business owner here, and as he remembered it was put up “some time in mid-to-late 70’s” after the house started to be called by the locals “The Key House”, there by the key and then the norwegian word for house “huset”. But based on your feedback here it seems like it’s gonna be very hard to get it through, so I guess I should put it on hold for now.

I just thought it was a unique sign on a building that has been there for such a long time, not many businesses in the area has been run for that long time, most things especially the last few years have disappeared due to bigger brands, online shopping, or the needs just go away, but these people have stuck around for over 50 years, and just wanted other people to experience this building and this area. And especially now after the city fully renovated the street with wide sidewalks, benches etc, making the area very nice for pedestrians and cyclists. Sadly the city did not build any sculptures, gazebos etc, meaning there isn’t much of the street itself I could nominate.

Thanks again for taking your time giving me feedback here and I’ll get back out there exploring the city to find other opportunities.

As a bonus I am adding in a before picture taken last year (borrowed from google street view just as an illustation), showing the major improvent done to the street

You can try, explain what make it unique. But if it got rejected by community, dont be surprised. Some of submission is like hit and miss
