Would love to know what is accepted or not to be a waystop, i have tried to add a garage, the j an r’s corner store but they have been rejected and now i am trying to get a waytop near where i live since i don’t have a cell phone plan on my phone,i have also seen some of my friends on pokemon go who had colleges as a waytop yet the school i have tried to make into a waystop got rejected as well, i have also seen some have houses and apartments as waytop but i have tried to get two houses accepted as a waystop but they were rejected as well
Any object on Single Family Private Residential Property is ineligible. Multi Family Private Residential Property is ok like apartment or condominium. Or you can put it in public park or community center
No, home-made objects do not meet Wayfarer guidelines, officially.
First, POIs on SFPRP are ineligible. However, there are POIs that have been homemade and put up in locations that are eligible, like Little Free Libraries outside of a business, for example. LFLs can be homemade, and instructions can be found online on how to create them.
Another example of something that could be seen as homemade is a painted rock garden at a public park. Most people that leave rocks there paint them at home, but it’s a POI that may be worth exploring and may be eligible.
Each homemade POI has to be judged on its own merit and if it meets criteria. An LFL encourages reading and may be worth exploring; it may also be a point for people to gather and socialize about books and reading. The painted rock garden is full of art, again worth exploring.
Fairy houses and fairy doors may be seen as mass produced, as they can easily bought online or in many stores. They’re harder to judge as to whether they meet criteria or not, and I tend to lean more towards them not, especially if the submitter doesn’t provide any proof that it’s unique and not mass produced.
The thread that Beer quoted has quite a long discussion, so just quoting one thing from it doesn’t give the full context. The OP of the thread didn’t ask for the clarification, and did mention that this was part of a community art project, so don’t rely soley on that clarification. Here’s the full thread, if interested:
Hi @patsy1985
We can talk about this in our Direct Message
I think its very interesting topic, what is allowed and what not.
Hi @patsy1985
You’ve edited the original title and post very much.
Could please be a little more specific about what you want to know?
A lot of this has been answered in your previous thread…
You should also take a read at this category.
Their original post was asking if the fairy village they were creating and was going to have placed on their property could be eligible to be a Wayspot.
Yes, i know. But they decided to change that so I want to know what they want to know now
I think they have been getting answers in the other thread they started, as well as here. I think, in general, they want to know what may or may not be eligible.
D-train, you are right I am trying to find out what elegable? or not that makes a waystop since I have no cell phone plan on my phone I just use it for games, the only reason I have no plan on my phone is because I have a learners disability
You have been pointed to many sources you can read, but we can’t possibly give you a list of every point of interest that is and every point of interest that is not eligible. If it isn’t on this ineligible list
and you believe that it meets the criteria of a great place for exercise, exploration, or being social
then you may submit it. And if you aren’t sure, you can ask for opinions here.
I think another issue you may have is not having a data plan on your phone. PoGo requires an online connection in order to be used, whether that be from data, such as 4G/5G, or WiFi. Since you have to access Wayfarer via PoGo, if you aren’t connected to the internet at the location you wish to nominate, you won’t be able to do so. Wayfarer doesn’t allow for remote nominations and edits, so if you don’t have internet at the POI that you want to submit, you most likely won’t be able to submit until you are connected to the internet at said location.
About my question about the fairy village I am going to build next year can I or can I not use it to make a pokestop?it would be like in the corner of the yard
If it is just you making the fairy village for yourself then no.
If it is in your yard then no.
If it is a community thing where others are involved and it has been authorised on public land and you have evidence of this (local news article etc) then maybe. Voters would have to be convinced its not something you have bough and placed just for a waypoint.
Hello,
The whole of the plot that your home is on is all part of the family home, even the corners away from the house.
Anything you submit has to be on public land. So you would need the agreement of the town authority.
It did not look like there was an area of safe public land within the sort of interaction distance you would need.
How about a fairy village built by ny neices and myself.
This does not sound like a wide community project.
More importantly where would you place this?
I was thinking of putting it right where have a tree in the corner by the street sign
