I don’t think that there are any specific code words to look out for.
Is there any words that don’t fit within the “Description” / “Supplemental” that could be identifying the nomination to friends etc.
Example: If I had a Group of PoGo friends and the idea was to Accept anything we nominated even if it was poor so we always put “bananas” in the supplemental.
Can you say where you heard about code words and the context of that?
It does state “codenames” in the “Accuracy” pop-up.
Some cases I’ve seen have three initials at the end of each description - undefined. Don’t know what they meant, but sure seemed to be signaling other reviewers in their circle.
Other times, after seeing the same dog or bicycle over and over in Supporting Pictures, I realized that’s probably a signal to the nominator’s buddies. Years ago I saw a Reddit thread where someone was bragging that they’d gotten their hat into dozens of primary pictures.
IOW There should be nothing that identifies the nominator, even to a small group.
I share this usually when this topic comes up. I found a great trail marker nomination in 2021, but there was a small figure just below which I couldn’t avoid getting in the photo.
I was aware that someone on the Resistance (blue, sometimes called Smurfs) would use a Smurf doll when adding new photos to say “this is my photo, please accept fellow blues”.
So I didn’t want someone to think I was doing similar of “hey, PkmnTrainerJ must like Nintendo so this is their nomination”. I added the below to supporting information and it got accepted. I still need to remove this photo from the Wayspot.
Please note: I did not place Diddy Kong here but also did not want to move him due to COVID. I promise a Kong-less photo after approval.
