Im using a pogomaps website but im finding is probably not correct, see in the 1st screenshoot the intersection off adalbeto tejada and articulo 27 seems to be on 1 S2 cell but on the pogo map is clearly 2, so its off. Which leads to issues when trying to submmit stuff. So whats the best tool to check to cells?? Thanks in advance.
There’s no real reliable map (at the moment) that will give us as a community accurate information as to what Wayspots exist in what cell. We are praying silently that Niantic / Scopely are going to provide us with a map at some point in the (near) future.
Bummer any option beside the pogomap? Thanks in advance
The closest you will get is the Ingress Map. But since the split, it’s no longer relevant for Pokemon Go and other games that are under the Scopley Umbrella. If you are ok with out of date maps, use Ingress. If you are patient, wait to see if we get a Pogo specific map.
If you wanted to join the wayfarer discussion discord, we have access to a new tool that will overlay cells onto the remote submission map but can also just be used to browse around and see the area
Knowing cells is extremely useful when submitting larger items like football pitches to see if part of it is in an occupied cell and part is not, however, it should never be used to purposely mis-pin an item to make it show in game. That would be considered abuse.
The other benefit of knowing cells is knowing what may show as a stop, and what may show as a powerspot ![]()
Yes i just want to at least cross reference. Thank you.
Thanks ill check it out, yes is mostly to avoid wasting time submiting something is not gonna make it
A map is on the way, but being staff have never confirmed the S2 cells (the community figured it out), I don’t know if the S2 cells will be included. Wayspots will be, so we may need to crosscheck them with an S2 cell map to see where they are and if they may show up in PoGo.
Can’t say if staff will be ok with a user-created S2 overlay will be allowed by staff (it has been for the Ingress Intel map, but Ingress isn’t owned by Scopely anymore), so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see when the map does come.
Also, personally, I could care less about checking to see if the S2 cell is empty or has something in it. If I find a POI that may meet criteria, I nominate it. If it becomes a stop/gym in PoGo, great; if it doesn’t, it could still get used as a Power Spot or in another Scopely game in the future.
Ignoring the wayspots I find Pogomap an easy way to see the layout of the cells. Unfortunately the waypoints are user added so it is usually inaccurate / out of date unless you are happy to spend the time confirming / correcting them.
Thanks that looks promising
Lol we live in diferent planets boss reality is not the same for everyone, im lucky i have experience life in the high dificult setting so i really dont fell threateng by anything IRL but im very extremly aware even that there is consecuences to even take a couple of pictures on the street. For instance for me police is not something that could help me but probably make things worse if i wouldnt know how to bahave. I guess im happy for you to fell that free.

what you mean? How do you ignore them? Like in the submission screen?
I think PoGoMap is supposed to be inaccurate with cells
I would definitely recommend the option via the wayfarer discord. It’s accurate and is not going to get anyone in trouble for using
I meant in Pogomap.
The waypoints are added by the users and they are able to just drop the pin on the map. When I started to use it most of my local area had not been updated by anyone since 2019.
One village was showing 7 waypoints, once I had updated the map it actually had 35!!!
There is a way to get the GPS data from the game then use this to place the waypoint correctly.
Some people have stated that the cells in pogomap are also inaccurate but in updating my town I did not find 1 waypoint that had obviously fallen in to the wrong cell.
I did find a couple of “2 in a cell” but when checking IITC and the new submit page they also confirmed these.
The new submit page is the most accurate but you must be willing to use add-ons in your browser and the map is not full screen.
Wayfarer has not confirmed that they are happy with the S2 Cell overlay or with people using the submit map for anything other than submitting so the above quote is not a Niantic view.
