What’s up with the powerspots?

Hello, good morning. I have a question about the powerspots. There are a couple that appeared about three times and never reappeared. Also, the dot is still on the map, as you can see on the loading screen. If they had been removed, shouldn’t this mark appear anymore?

So, I have the following questions:
How much distance should a powerspot share with another, considering they’re in different cells?

How many powerspots can there be and appear in the same cell?

I should mention that this happened during the last sync on September 4th.

Here’s some info on Power Spots that may be helpful:

Wayspots that are not eligible to be Pokestops or gyms still have the potential to be used as Power Spots. It appears that there is a 22m distance requirement from any Pokestop or gym for it to be used this way, and it seems there is a limit of two active Power Spots per L14 S2 cell, the same size used to determine gyms. The schedule for syncing in new Power Spots is not on a daily basis. The last few syncs have been on the 4th of the month.

Power Spots also show up infrequently, as there is no known timeframe as to when one that has disappeared will reappear again. And just because they are orange exclamation points on the nomination map doesn’t mean they have been removed; they most likely are still on the map, but just haven’t been used or are within 22m of a stop/gym. We also don’t know if there is a minimum distance Power Spots have to be from each other, just a distance from stops/gyms.

Thanks for responding, 2 of which have not appeared again, 1 is 41 meters from its PokeStop sharing the same cell and another is more than 48 meters away, and between powerposts they have a distance of more than 30 meters, so it seems very strange to me that they have not appeared again

This September 4th it seems that the powerspots celebrated their first anniversary, I thought they would do something like give more details about how to have them or even reconsider the fact that they don’t disappear because the problem hasn’t only happened to me, it has also happened to many of my friends in their respective areas.

I had a Power Spot that I requested removal of last year show up again last month, and this month, same thing happened with another at the same location, which has been redeveloped.

It’s possible that maybe that 3rd party database they origianlly pulled from is beingused again, but they didn’t check to make sure that some of the Power Spots were still active and others were in fact removed. It’s also possible that, due to the sync issues last week that were resolved over the weekend, that there could be some issues even with the Power Spots.
